â             MY GRANDFATHER TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS .  not just how to do my duty , i mean .   â      it feels strange , to speak to ren of all people about this .  about the things that they could do , things others couldn't .  BUT BEING UNIQUE ALSO MEANS BEING ALONE , WITHOUT ANYONE TO RELY ON . she knows ren is part of a group of individuals , one with whom he shared powers and a connection to spirits with .  but it wasn't the case with her .  there was no use looking for a community of individuals with powers like her own   /  BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ONE LIKE HER OUT THERE .
she hadn't thought much about it at first ,      assuming that being unique only meant that she was special .  the idea had been appealing at first , for a girl who was raised on sweets and sugar , on fairy princesses and stories about heroines .  'I WAS CHOSEN FOR THIS' , she had convinced herself , having accepted that she would have no allies other than her grandfather , as well as the company of cheery cherry and nick by her side .  but now that she had killed her fair share of opponents  (  of criminals , one might say  )  the weight of her actions was starting to take its toll on her .  and while she was aware no one but her could carry this burden , she still wished she could talk to someone about everything .     â   he taught me how to ride a bike , or how to throw a punch  âŠÂ BUT HE DID NOT TEACH ME ABOUT THIS .  about how lonely being chosen really is .   â
