Is there a certain thing that you truly expect to happen by the end of ASOIAF? Like, a thing you will be surprised if doesn't happen, a plot twist, etc?
Hm... there are a few things, I think! (Spoilers through ADwD below)
Despite the end of ADwD, Jon Snow is not dead or will not stay dead for long, but he might die by the end of the series.
Major battle with the White Walkers.
Jaime kills Cersei.
Sansa returns to Winterfell and rebuilds.
A plot twist involving Rickon, whether it be a cannibal army or him becoming lord of Winterfell or what-have-you.
Dany reaches Westeros or dies shortly before arriving. She won't be in Westeros for long and I don't think she'll end up ever ruling, but I do think she'll get there or come very close.
Some serious shit is going to happen with the Martells, probably/possibly a war at last with the Iron Throne.
Asha returns to the Iron Islands, possibly as queen.
VARYS IS A BLACKFYRE/reemergence of Blackfyres.
R+L=J is so obvious that I almost forgot it. Already canon tbh.
That's basically it!! I'm not really sure about anything else or I can't think right now, but if you're curious about anyone in particular feel free to ask me! I have some predictions about pretty much everyone but these are the ones I feel must happen.
