Hey! Are you guys still relatively active?? I would love to apply
We sure are!
Any more room for trans characters. Don't want to make it a trend but I'd like to try my hand at it
Of course! We have two trans characters at the moment and we could always use more!
Not to be negative. The discord makes it feel kind of cliquey, along with some being selective with threads and who they reply to. How do you suggestion getting threads and fitting in, even after reaching out to people?
Hey there! Iām sorry you feel that way and you could always come to me privately if you wanna talk about it, but I think it really just comes down to making an active effort to interact with others and not take it personally if a starter or reply doesnāt get an immediate response. Some characters just wonāt naturally mesh with others and that could be a reason why you perceive lack of interest in your posts, which isnāt a fault of yours. Just keep trying! If you see a natural opening for your character in someone elseās starter, try to see where that goes!
As for tips regarding interactions, I have some suggestions:
Make sure your starters/replies are activeĀ and not passive.Ā This is a very common mistake I see in starters across the board (not here specifically) which leads to frustration. By active,Ā I mean your character has to be the oneĀ ādoingā something and leading the plot, not waiting around for someone to jump in and trigger an interaction. (This is the quickest explainer on the subject I could find.)Ā
Failing that, you should at least give the hypothetical other person a logical opening for theirs to enter the scene, or else youāre forcing them to do the heavy lifting for you, which isnāt fun. You have to make it easy for a potential replier, or else they wonāt see the incentive to jump in.
My rule of thumb with replies to put it in simpler terms is this: make sure your replies invoke some sort ofĀ āquestionā (literal or figurative) for the other to answer.Ā It could be them literally asking the other something (āWhat do you think about ___?ā), or introducing a new plot element into the thread that the other person canāt ignore (i.e. an alarm goes off around them).
As for plotting beforehand, make sure you actually approach the other person with ideas instead of putting out a vagueĀ ādo you want to plot?ā feeler, because it puts them in the awkward position of having to think of something for you. This is why replying to other peopleās starters is preferable, because you get to see if thereās some sort of chemistry between your characters before plotting something more detailed and concrete.Ā
Like I alluded to, some characters donāt have a logical connection between them to build on, and thatās fine! It doesnāt mean the other person doesnāt wanna plot with you, it just means the characters, specifically, might not jive together. Please donāt take it personally if this happens.
These are just some things I could think of right now, but as always, donāt hesitate to ask me for help. Thatās why Iām here!
Thank you for the answers. I know we all appreciate all the work you're doing, Admin š bless you!

Shout out to the admin! Thank for you a great RP
keep sweet-talking me and we gonna be like this
will there be teams made up within the Advocates or is that something we can plot out ourselves when we join?
Thatās actually something Iām working on at the moment! We have certainĀ āclustersā of characters that would logically work well together (stealthy covert ops, electronic/digital, environmental based, etc.) and Iām gonna organize canon teams for them to join, so ~stay tuned on that.
What sort of missions do the Advocates go on, exactly?
Depends on what a mission calls for! Responding to supervillain attacks is the most common sort of crisis theyāll respond to, but they also have specific teams for reconnaissance and intel gathering, peacekeeping, diplomacy, etc. Basically the sort of problems you would expect the Avengers or Justice League to answer.
