Hope
When describing light and dark, I love to use the universe. When God created the universe, first thing He did was to separate the light from the dark. When we look at the sky, we love to see the stars or moon, we will not look at black sky, nothing beautiful in darkness. We love to see any light in any kind of darkness. No matter how small it is, light can always dismiss the darkness around it.
God hates darkness, he hates evil. From the beginning of the universe, God keep separating the two until now, from Seth, to Noah, to Abraham. And God plan for salvation became more clear since Abraham, when God asked Abraham to send out Ishmael (his flesh child), separated him from Isaac, the promised child of divine plan. Because the blessing are different for that two descendants. It is from Isaac the divine promise fulfilled, the line in which Jesus the Messiah was born. It is the line which we are now through Jesus, also inherit the divine promise, no matter what our origin or race is.
Entering advent weeks, all lights and christmas decoration are up, and those lights bring joy and cheerful feeling only to look at them. Regardless the religion, people love this festive season and all lights decoration. Ironically, the true Light is not that welcomed to many or most of us, even to us that so called Christians. We forgot the Light of the World, Jesus. Advent weeks is period to remind us of great Love, hope/faith, joy and peace. A state that can only comes or experience by those who welcome the True Light, the light of the world, Jesus Christ. If not, then Advent week and Christmas just a celebration season that brings stress and burden.
Advent weeks should be seen in the perspective of celebrating or preparing the coming of Christ the second time, it's not just the birth of Christ. It was done more than 2000 years ago. Our celebration must be now in faith, that He is coming soon. So our love, hope, joy and peace will be complete when He is come for those who are faithful.
In which Light that we are living now, the wordly light or the one true everlasting Light?
