 ❝     what’s   the   bear’s   name   ??     ❞         there’s   a   crackle   to   her   voice,   the   crush   of   dry   sand   beneath   booted   feet.   she’d   quite   literally   fallen   from   the   sky   in   this   world   she   doesn’t   understand,   has   to   bite   at   the   knowledge   that   somewhere   out   there   there’s   a   city   made   out   of   flesh   and   hunger   and   it’s   waiting   to   devour   the   world   whole.   still.   they’ve   been   travelling   for   hours   together   now,   more   out   of   what   is   most   likely   pity   on   their   part   than   anything   else,   and   she   hasn’t   spoken   a   word   to   them   until   now.   well.   her   mama   tried   to   raise   her   to   be   polite.         ❝     i’m   uh   ...   i’m   jester.     ❞

cassandra does not divert her gaze from the fire  --  she doesn’t know that she could make it if she tried .  eternally damned . . . years before ,  it would have felt a silly concept ,  made up for storybooks for adults .  but now . . . well .  now cassandra and @adveanture​ are the two last de rolos ,  living in the haunted home that had once been theirs ,  and their new parents are gleefully damned ,  so it seems .  nothing that is so is so ,  even as it is .  “ the warmth keeps us alive , ”  she says ,  dully ,  “ and the light keeps us awake . ”  and maybe the eternal damnation was coming either way .

anna allows the words to hit her ears ,  even as they make her freeze  --  her back to @adveanture​ ,  her hands shaking by her sides .  “ the same side ? ”  she echoes ,  looking at him over her shoulder .  blue eyes betray nothing but anger  --  well .  nothing but anger and a powerful ,  sharp edge of hurt ,  of betrayal .  “ you lied to me .  you almost froze me to death .  you almost killed elsa ! ”  and ,  to anna ,  though both are super bad ,  one of those is decidedly worse .  “ what kind of same side could there possibly be ,  huh ? ”

she hadn’t been able to sleep all that well the evening before,  and so ella found herself perched in the chair at her desk going over the stack of paperwork that had begun to pile up. a queen’s work is never truly done, and things had begun to sink very quickly in the days following louisa’s birth. so much so, that ella had hardly noticed the sun had risen behind the curtains pulled at the windows. the only hint of morning’s arrival was the soft knock at the door and the appearance of  @adveanture​  in the doorway with a cooing infant in his arms. immediately, ella sets down her pen and rises from her chair.  ❝  good morning, my loves.  ❞  she hums affectionately, softly kissing louisa’s head before turning upwards for a kiss from topher as well.  ❝  i must have gotten caught up in some work this morning, i’m sorry if i frightened you.  ❞

          ❝ ...  i’m sorry i’ve missed so much. ❞  it isn’t his fault,  they both know that,  but will can’t help apologising  ( it isn’t her fault either,  after all ).  his jaw tenses,  flexes,  betraying his discomfort.  ❝ i wish i had more time to get to know him better.  i wish i had more time to spend with you. ❞

“It means a lot.”

HE SHOULD BE USED TO MAGIC. it’s magic that brought him back from the dead. and it’s magic that gave a tiny blonde a ridiculous amount of hair and somehow no neck pain. and yes, eugene is surprised whenever magic presents itself to the world. it went against his practical manner. but he knew the source of rapunzel’s magic. it wasn’t hereditary. sure, her mother had passed it onto her, but it was the sundrop that caused their powers. so the fact that his fiance’s cousin could shoot ice from her hands was… startling. ❝ hey, I think everyone’s has blankets for the night. it’s not ideal but everyone will be okay. ❞ eugene pauses. he doesn’t know hans. hell, he doesn’t even know elsa or anna. but he feel compelled to ask. ❝ are you… okay? I didn’t hear and see everything but that was intense and it’s okay if you want to talk about it ❞
