Oh? That’s Cool. I’ll Be honest I wasn’t really paying attention.

Prologue
MARINETTE ADHD AU
When Marinette was eight years old, she got yelled at a lot. She was always sent home from school with notes from her teachers about her interrupting class, not being able to sit still during quiet time, getting distracted easily, and day-dreaming. Convenient enough for the Dupain-Chang clan, Marinette had a doctors appointment that weekend. Sabine and Tom decided to consult their family doctor to see what they thought about these behaviors Marinette was displaying.
Their doctor identified it almost right away, “Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Chang, your daughter is displaying common symptoms of combined hyperactive-impulsive and inattentive ADHD.”
“Well what does that mean for her future?” Tom asked.
“Well, since it is a neurodevelopmental disorder, your child should learn at the same rate as the other kids, since it wont affect her learning what so ever,” The doctor explained, “but due to the symptoms of ADHD, you might want to try out different medications and see which one benefits her learning experience.”
So that’s what the family did, trying out many different medications throughout school until they had found the right match at the beginning of her lycee experience.
But of course, Marinette would oversleep on her first day back to school.
“Can I skip my pill today?” Marinette asked, “I’m gonna be late.”
“Marinette, you know how you are while you’re not on it..” Her mother protested. “Plus you’re just swallowing a tiny little pill, take your break fast witih you.”
So now, in addition to that pastries she brought every year, she had to take her breakfast with her to school, and take her adderall on an empty stomach.
Looking at the time, Marinette scarfed down the pill and grabbed what she needed for her first day. In one hand, a breakfast sandwich made from fresh baked croissants from her parent’s bakery. In the other, the pastries she would be giving to her class.
It was a shame her breakfast sandwich had to go to waste. She chose to sacrifice it to assist an old, east-Asian looking man who was still crossing the street even though the light had changed. She went into the middle of the cross walk, raising her hand and acting as what many would refer to as a crossing guard. She followed the old man to the side of the street he was going, also the way she had come from.
“You should be more careful next time,” She said to the man offering her one of the pastries she had in with her.
“I could have gotten seriously hurt if it weren’t for you,” The wise sounding man said, “thank you.”
Marinette smiled at the man, “no problem.”
Just as it was safe to cross the street again, the five minute warning bell rang. Marinette wished the man a good rest of his day and bolted to her school.
She had made it to that fateful first day of school with a minute to spare.
Marinette kept to herself most of the day, staying quiet and fidgeting with her nails (a bad habit she had). Soon it was lunch time and the students were allowed to go home and eat or go out to eat if they chose.
Marinette smiled at Nino, the only person at the school who wanted to be the weird kid who cries during thunderstorms (among many other things she hated about herself), as she walked out of the building and over to her house that was just street away. Nino sat in the back with Marinette, but not next to her, at the table next to hers, they both sat alone .
Though her stomach hurt from skipping breakfast this morning, almost to the point she had wondered if this is what period cramps were like; she opted to get a small snack and went up to her room and planned on getting started on what she already had for homework.
It was so easy to get distracted, even with her medication, and today a weird little black box had caught her eye.
