Hawthorne once wrote, If I had wings, I would gladly fly, and I agree. The earth is all too limiting—it prevents perspective over things, guides the mind to false importances, clutches the soul to soil and grimy minutiae. But, above the trees, beyond branches and gravity, in the vast space between green and blue, where options are infinite and changing as summer clouds—if I had wings, I would gladly fly there, and rid my feet of this dust and sing hymns to feathers and freedom and flight.
