The Funeral of Matthew de Clermont - 1848
or vampires love goodbyes and the opportunity to mess with humans.
Thanks to @sazmags for the idea!
Matthias de Clermont died on Spetember 18th 1848.
Well, he didn't. But he was needed on another assignment, and they had already been in London for a few decades. So, a funeral was needed.
Miyako took the opportunity to don her best funeral outfit - a well fitted black gown and veil. She had always enjoyed a good funeral.
"My brother was a good man," Baldwin began solemnly, "Such a good man. I'm just sad that syphilis got him. But at least it wasn't another venereal disease."
Some gasped in the pews. Even the priest was perturbed.
Freyja was next, "I was Matthais' mistress. I loved him more than his witch of a wife!" She was 'escorted' away by Marcus.
Meanwhile, in the open coffin, Matthew was trying not to laugh, as humans in the crowd, who thought he was married to Miriam.
Miriam was sat in the front, trying not to laugh in the front - she wore a veil, so everyone else thought she was crying into Philippe's shoulder.
Gallowglass was next, "I just want you all to know, Matt owed me ÂŁ200 betting on the horses. Who do I collect from?"
Afterwards, when all the humans had left the wake and said their condolences, Miriam knocked on the coffin, letting Matthew know it was safe to come out.
"Well, that was fun." Matthew said, sitting up, "Did you have to jump in the grave?"
Marcus shrugged, "Why not?" He dramatically threatened to go with him.
"I do like those flowers." Ysabeau said, looking over a bouquet, "Can we take them?"
"You want my funeral flowers, mother?"
"It isn't as if you're using them," Philippe pointed out.
