Hi! I’m here today to bother you about starters. You’ll all remember the bit in the rules about them, right? The bit under ‘posting’, not ‘activity’. Here it is, for reference:

Post starters! But reply to other’s starters at least three times first!! Make everyone feel welcome. It sucks to be ignored, and we don’t want anyone to feel that way.

We’ve all been absolutely awful at following this one for quite a while now. But guess what? We’re gonna fix that! From today, I’ll be monitoring this one - closely! We want everybody to feel included here, and for everyone to have the opportunity to build connections within the roleplay. What’s a fun, interactive way to do that, you ask? Threads! Threads, threads, threads.

So, whenever you’d like to post a starter to start a few new ones? That’s great! All we’re asking if that you please, please make sure that you’ve replied to at least three other starters before doing so. Do we mind if you use the same character for each of these? Of course not! What we do ask, however, is that you’re not only responding to starters by the same person each time. Why? Well, we don’t want anyone feeling left out, and it’s nice to expand your connections, and to get to know more of your fellow RPers! You’re all brilliant, talented RPers, and lovely, creative people, you can do this. 

This rule applies even when - especially when - you’re making a starter targeted at only one particular character. While we allow these (they’re fun! And they’re fantastic when you’re trying to further one specific plot, I can’t deny that, I support them, and I’m guilty of “forgetting” this rule when posting them, too) and we love to see them, we need for you to please follow the three replies first rule before you commence them. Please. 

So, to recap: always reply to three other starters before posting your own, I’ll be keeping an eye on this, as we’d like to keep NOS a fun, engaging place for all of our members and their characters.

Hi guys!

I’m terrible with introductions, but it’s okay, most of you’d know me by now anyway - I've been a member for four years now! I’m super, super excited to be teaming up with our lovely admin Roger (we owe her a lot of thanks for all of her hard work), and all of you! I love you guys, a whole bunch. 

I’ll be finding my feet for the next little bit, so please, bear with me, I’ll be trying my very best. If you’ve any notes, questions, queries, comments, ideas, suggestions, anything in the mean time, you know where to find us (right here, or follow the handy links to the right), and we’d really, really love to hear from you.

the plot is about to commence! remember to follow demibuzz so you’ll be up to date on everything, as the first part of the plot drop (which will occur over the next 48 hours) will be solely posted on demibuzz. the first post will be posted within the next thirty minutes or so, so keep your eyes peeled for that! this is a reminder that your characters will be able to react to the post as if they’ve just read it, as demibuzz is an ic news source--so we’re looking forward to the different responses to these new events.

Most likely, we’ll have another future AU to kick things off for 2020, but if anyone wants something different, message in. Nothing is set in stone!

As for the admin situation, at present, there isn’t an active “search” underway, but should NoS grow substantially bigger/the “workload” of admin duties increase, that will definitely change! And NoS will be the first to know.

App acceptances will be taking place over this weekend, so if you have a pending application that you’d still like to be considered (or have anything you’d like changed on your application), just let us know! 

And if you’ve been thinking about applying for a new character, now’s your chance! But, of course, from here we will be resuming our acceptance schedule, so there’s no rush.
