Hi! Iâm here today to bother you about starters. Youâll all remember the bit in the rules about them, right? The bit under âpostingâ, not âactivityâ. Here it is, for reference:
Post starters! But reply to otherâs starters at least three times first!! Make everyone feel welcome. It sucks to be ignored, and we donât want anyone to feel that way.
Weâve all been absolutely awful at following this one for quite a while now. But guess what? Weâre gonna fix that! From today, Iâll be monitoring this one - closely! We want everybody to feel included here, and for everyone to have the opportunity to build connections within the roleplay. Whatâs a fun, interactive way to do that, you ask? Threads! Threads, threads, threads.
So, whenever youâd like to post a starter to start a few new ones? Thatâs great! All weâre asking if that you please, please make sure that youâve replied to at least three other starters before doing so. Do we mind if you use the same character for each of these? Of course not! What we do ask, however, is that youâre not only responding to starters by the same person each time. Why? Well, we donât want anyone feeling left out, and itâs nice to expand your connections, and to get to know more of your fellow RPers! Youâre all brilliant, talented RPers, and lovely, creative people, you can do this.Â
This rule applies even when - especially when - youâre making a starter targeted at only one particular character. While we allow these (theyâre fun! And theyâre fantastic when youâre trying to further one specific plot, I canât deny that, I support them, and Iâm guilty of âforgettingâ this rule when posting them, too) and we love to see them, we need for you to please follow the three replies first rule before you commence them. Please.Â
So, to recap: always reply to three other starters before posting your own, Iâll be keeping an eye on this, as weâd like to keep NOS a fun, engaging place for all of our members and their characters.Â
Iâm sorry this was quite so long, but if you could please like this post to let us know that youâve read and understood, that would be very much appreciated. If youâve any questions or concerns, as always, feel free to message!Â
Thanks guys!
