You are welcomed home by the man that has made you smile more times then you can count he greets you with a warm hug. You give him a smile back your lay your head on his chest. He holds you close. “Hey honey how was work” Chen’s powerful voice rinsed over your body relaxing you. His head close to your ear rubbing your back. You smile hearing his voice you nod against his chest “Yes I am doing well Chen honey” you close your eyes, and curl your arms around him. You are doing your best to hide your feelings of the day from him even though you two have been together for a year and friends far longer than you can imagine. “Your not very good at lying to me” Chen says the words in a serious tone, before chuckling to the words that came next “Do I need to strike someone down with the mighty power of Zeus” he does his best to make a booming voice fill the 2 bedroom apartment you live with him. He is only able to get the better part of his sentence out before breaking down in laughter at his own joke. You push him away trying to hide the amusement at the joke he made. “No one you dork” the words place a smile on his face. “I just has a long day at work and customers sometimes get on my nerves. They make me question things, sometimes I don’t know if I am good enough to work there” you say the words sighing and a bit frustrated. Chen rolls his eyes “look at me y/n, you need to understand that you are perfect the way you are the people you work with and the customers that give you a hard time don’t know you on a personal level like your friends and family do.” he grabs your hand and pulls you lightly with him toward the front door, he hands you his hoodie asking you to put it on. You slide the hoodie on over you head letting Chen’s scent over your body. “where are we going?” the words are almost second nature to you when you ask almost as second nature as the answer you knew we was going to give you mouth the words as he says them. “What and see y/n” he chuckles as you mouth the words with him. “I promise you will like the date I am going to take you on, some one of such beauty deserves a wonderful date.” Chen pulls you out the door and into the car As soon as Chen is sitting next to you in the driver seat you look over at him “I don’t understand why you think I am so perfect and beautiful.” the words come out sounding depressed and defeated, you look down as he starts driving to your destination. “Y/n you are so smart I can’t believe that you have never heard of my favorite quote by Shakespeare ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ the people that you work for can not see how amazing you are, the beauty that you hold is not only on the outside but is measured in great ways on the inside as well” he starts out his explanation then realizes that he is being long and drawn out. “basically what I am trying to say is,don’t let those work people get you down.” he places a hand on your knee and smiles “I love you Y/N” Smiling back at Chen you lay back in your seat “I love you to hun”
