The house was unusually quiet when you walked into the house, which made you suspicious. Something was going on and you didn’t know what. Usually the TV was blaring or there was the sound of laughter. You knew that Jiho was home, because his keys were on the banister.
“Baby? Where are you?” You set your purse and keys on the banister and slipped off your coat. You heard a few swears and the clattering of bowls before he finally appeared, running out of the kitchen. “What’s going on?”
“Hey! Okay, so, you know how I have some free time, right? Well, you’re always doing things for me like cooking dinner for me- No, wait, don’t go in there,” he plead and ran in front of you when you started walking towards the kitchen. He stood in the doorway and blocked your view. “Please don’t look in there.”
“Sweetheart, I’m tired. Too tired to truly get angry about whatever you did, but also too tired to have much patience.”
“Just go to the room and I’ll take care of it, but I’m not budging until you’re out of sight.“
“Fine,” you said simply and got on your hands knees, crawling through the small space between his legs.
He groaned and closed his legs around your waist, waddling to try and drag you away from the kitchen. When it wasn’t really working, he bent over, grabbed your ankles, and started dragging you away. You kicked your feet until he let go, nearly stumbling and balancing himself on some nearby furniture.
You stood up and ran towards the kitchen; you would have made it if it weren’t for the fact that he jumped on you and you both fell to the floor- he was kind enough to have you land on top of him and his back collided with the floor.
When both of you had become aware of your surroundings, you didn’t even bother trying to get away. He just held you by the waist and you both studied each other’s face. “You’re handsome,” you whispered and pecked his lips.
He shyly grinned and looked away. “Do you promise to not get angry?”
“I swear on my life.”
He sighed and released your waist. “Alright, then you can see the mess...”
You gave him one final kiss before standing up and going to the kitchen, with Jiho following. Looking around the kitchen, you were mildly mortified. There were piles of dirty dishes- pans and pots with a burnt substance stuck to them, and bowls with some sort of sauce pooling at the bottom- and a reddish-brown sauce all over the countertops.
You sighed, rubbed your temples, and looked at him. He looked absolutely adorable trying to play innocent and you couldn’t bare the thought of betraying the trust he had put in you to not get angry. “I love you so much, sweety. We’ll clean this up and order pizza.”
Your phone chimed and you looked at the screen, seeing that it was a calendar notification. You tapped to view the event and your eyes widened when it read that today was the first anniversary of when you and Youngjae started dating. At that moment, you could have bashed your head into the coffee table for forgetting the day where you started dating a ball of sunshine- an evil one but still.
Luckily Youngjae was recording for ‘Blue’, so you had a good bit of time to figure out something to do. You hopped off of the couch and paced around the living room as you called up your friend, Soohee.
“Oh, hey. What’s up?,” she said once she picked up. It sounded like she was in the room... which was weird. You couldn’t remember seeing her around the house or even letting her in. Your slight suspicion was confirmed when she bumped into you and you screamed, nearly dropping your phone.
“What the heck?! How did you get in here?! How long have you been here?!” You lightly slapped her arm and she rubbed the area you slapped.
“First of all: ouch, rude. Second of all: I snuck in at three in the morning, when Youngjae was leaving.”
“You realize that this is illegal, right?”
“Yeah, but we’re best friends. You can’t turn me in. That’s against the BFF code.”
“There’s no such thing as a BFF code.”
“Of course there is! The number one rule is that we can’t touch each other’s man, even if we’re broken up.”
“Oops.”
She gasped and stared at you with wide eyes. “Did you date someone after we broke up?!”
You burst out in laughter. “No. You date gross people.”
“Why are you so mean?”
“Because BFFs can be openly mean to each other.”
“Sure, whatever. Why are we still on the phone with each other?” You hung up and she said, “Awe... Anyways, why were you calling?”
“Because today is our anniversary.”
“Of our friendship?”
“No, you idiot! Me and Youngjae’s. I have no idea how to celebrate it.”
“There you are being rude again,” she muttered. “You could always throw a party.”
“Isn’t it too late to invite guests?”
“Nonsense. I’ll start inviting people.”
“Please don’t invite strangers or anyone that I don’t personally know.”
Hours later, the house was decorated and there was plenty of food and beverages. You were even lucky enough to find a last-minute DJ. “Who all did you invite?,” you asked Soohee.
“The B.A.P members, BTOB, Highlight, Vixx, GFriend, Red Velvet, a few of our mutual friends, and a few of your family members.”
“It’s going to be such a sausage party...”
“Okay, I’ll go and invite more female idols.”
“Please don’t.”
“Okay, then I’ll uninvite people.”
“No! That’s rude! We’ll just keep who we have.”
It was now 6:45 PM and guests were arriving. Youngjae had come home around 5 and was caught off guard, so you had to catch him up.
“Did you plan this last minute?”
“No, of course not!”
“So you did?”
“... Okay, maybe.”
He laughed and hugged you tightly, holding your head against his chest. “Even if you did forget, thank you, baby.”
“I can’t tell if you forgot as well or if you remembered and are forgiving me.”
“I forgot. The guys reminded me and I bought you a box of chocolates and a Marc Jacobs perfume. I don’t know the name, but it smelled like something you’d like.”
“Thank you... I’ll buy you something tomorrow. I was kind of busy planning this party.”
“Okay. Now, let’s get to the party before people think the hosts are having their own fun.”
You shyly giggled, embarrassed at the idea of people thinking that. “Alright.” Both of you walked into the living room together and saw the singers, rappers, and dancers in their own groups, discussing who was better at what they do. You sighed to yourself, knowing it would end in people wanting to hold a contest.
You heaved as you dragged your luggage into the hotel room. Kibum walked in after you, chuckling and shutting the door. “You know, I could have helped you carry your luggage in.”
“Yes, you’ve already told me that, but I am fully capable of carrying it.”
“Alright. Suit yourself. Let’s get settled in. Tomorrow we’re going to Saint Mark’s Basilica.” He grabbed his suitcases and dragged them to the other half of the room, where you assumed he would stay while you stayed in the half you were already standing in.
Instead of unpacking, you opted for looking around the place. It was large and elegant. The bed that would be yours was giant and looked like it was as comfortable as a cloud. The colour scheme of the room was baby blue and white with accents of gold. The wardrobe and dresser were made of mahogany and were large enough to stuff ten people inside- not that doing so was on the to-do list.
You walked out to the balcony through the floor-to-ceiling glass paned doors and was in awe over the view. The architecture you could see was gorgeous and the colours of the sunset made everything look like a paradise.
You wanted to continue looking at it, but peeled yourself away to look at the bathroom. You wanted to take a shower, anyways. Not being able to shower for the whole flight had made you feel like a literal grease ball.
Even the bathroom was gorgeous and roomy. There was a clawfoot tub, standup shower, and protruding shell sink with a marble countertop. Everything contrasted beautifully with the cherrywood floors throughout the whole hotel room. A pure white, plush rug was covering majority of the floor and it was so unbelievably soft. Even the toilet (which had its own separate little room) looked like it belonged to royalty. You wondered what it would be like to sleep on the rug, but pushed the thought out of your mind because it was far too gross.
You exited the bathroom and grabbed some clothes out of your suitcase, along with toiletries. “I’m going to take a bath,” you announced and hurriedly walked back to the bathroom, far too excited for a bath.
“As in a bubble bath?,” he called back.
“Yes! This bathroom is far too luxurious to not take a bubble bath!”
“Then you better be quick, because I want to see that bathroom.”
“Uuuhhhh... I’ll be as quick as I can bring myself to be!” You slammed the door closed and locked it.
You walked out of the bathroom, now wearing a snuggly set of pajamas, and ran your fingers through your damp hair, happily sighing. “Even the towels are heavenly. I had some lavender scented candles lit. I’m completely relaxed.”
“Oh God, I imagine it’s going to be nearly impossible to get you out of this room now.”
“Shut up.” You looked up to see him unpacking your belongings and rolled your eyes. “You better not touch my ‘delicates’.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t want to touch things that have touched your lady parts.”
“And if it were Scarlett Johansson’s delicates?”
“Hmm... Then I might consider it. Maybe be eager.”
“You little-!” You grabbed a pillow and hit him.
He laughed, far too amused. “Don’t worry, I prefer you over her. Anyways, aren’t you going to blow dry your hair?”
“No, it usually makes me sweat.” You grabbed your bras and panties and set them in their own drawers.
“Then put the dryer on the cold setting.”
“It’s nearly impossible to get anything dry with cold air. I’m not sitting around for thirty minutes trying to dry my hair when it could air dry in that amount of time.”
“Okay, fine. Have it your way. I’m going to get some food from Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go and stop somewhere to get some champagne.”
“Alright. Make sure to get me something. Nothing as oily as your face looks, though.”
“Why do you have to roast me?”
You giggled. “Because it’s fun and you’re just so cute.”
Kibum poured two glasses of champagne and handed one to you. You gladly took it and asked, “What should we toast to?”
“Mm... To each other’s company and a blossoming relationship?”
You smiled and blushed. “Cheers,” you said and you clanked your glasses together.
You were so gorgeous and breathtaking. Everyone agreed but then argued that you were too shy and too much of a ‘nerd’. It was easy to be considered a nerd, though: study, make decent grades, and don’t do the dumb shit every other college-goer does and BAM, you’re labeled a nerd. Every set of jocks had their own nerds in the mix, but it was kept hidden; Bobby was one of them.
He was good at sports, but refused to let his grades drop below a B and he had a strict rule for himself that not all grades can be B’s. He was also, coincidentally, the one guy that didn’t find you weird. When he would compliment you, it wouldn’t be followed by an insult, even when he was around a few jock buddies.
He liked you more than anyone could comprehend. You were exactly what he wanted; the preppy girls were nice to mess around with, but were too clumsy and airheaded to have anything real with. Did he want to be with you? Hell yes. More than anything, which was obvious when he allowed his history grade to drop to a C, which was one of the classes he shared with you.
After the professor shamed him by calling him out in front of the class and preaching about how Bobby had been his star student, he approached you when the class ended. His buddies asked what he was doing and he simply explained that he didn’t want to be kicked off of the soccer team for his grades not being good enough. They understood and talked amongst themselves, eventually leaving him alone with you.
You strolled around campus together in complete silence before speaking up, “So why are you wanting to talk to me?”
“Oh! Right. Well, I have a C in history and I really badly need to pull it up before my coach threatens to kick me off the team. I was hoping you could tutor me since you’re so smart and good at every subject.”
You blushed and hugged your books closer to your chest. “Yeah, I guess I can. Where do you want to meet up?”
“At your dorm. If that’s alright with you! I don’t want to intrude. Or we can go to my dorm.” He saw how tightly you were holding your books and took them from you, assuming your arms were getting tired.
You looked down at the ground, shyly trying to hide your face with your hair. “No, we can go to my dorm. No offense, but I don’t trust going to yours.”
“I can’t say that I necessarily blame you.”
“So when do you want to meet up?”
“As soon as possible.”
Bobby awkwardly looked around the room, seated on your couch with textbooks opened to the subject at hand. He didn’t seem to be paying much attention, but he wasn’t spaced out or ignoring you- he just had something else on his mind that was worrying him. It made you wonder if this was a complete waste of time.
You closed all of the textbooks and started putting them back to their designated locations, realizing that trying to tutor him was a waste of time. “Why did you ask for me to help you if you weren’t even interested?” When he didn’t answer and continued to bite at his thumb nail and shake his leg, you yelled, “Bobby!”
He jumped, finally paying attention to you for the first time since arriving. “Shit, sorry.” He rubbed his face and continued, “I just... Can I be honest with you?”
“Sure, not like I have anyone to gossip to anyways.”
“I’m purposely doing poorly in the class.”
You looked at him dumbfounded, now firmly believing that all popular people were empty-headed. “Why? That’s stupid.”
“I know, but I have my reason for it.” He leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees and rubbing his hands together. “I thought it would be the only way for me to be around you without you being suspicious...”
You stood up and stepped away from him. “Suspicious of what? I thought you were ashamed to be around me, hence choosing to meet at a dorm. So you wouldn’t be seen with me.”
“I’m not going to hurt you, I never would even have the intention to. Please sit back down.” You don’t know why, but you believed him and sat back next to him. “I did this because I want us to try out dating.”
“Dating? As in each other?”
“You have all A’s, there’s no way you don’t understand what I mean.”
“Fair enough. But why would you want to date me? I’m just the nerdy girl people make fun of and cheat off of.”
“You’re more than that. You’re so sweet and smart. Much better than the other women I’m around.”
“I thought jocks liked dumb bimbos.”
“Most do, but I don’t like them for anything long-term. We don’t have to be open about the relationship, we can keep it private until we’re out of college and don’t have to worry about other girls tearing you down.”
“So, if we go public about the relationship, there’s the possibility of other girls getting catty?”
“Unfortunately. It’s not like I would want it, but girls are crazy when something they think is theirs gets taken away.”
“And what if a girl hits on you while we’re privately dating?”
“I’ll turn her down and praise one of my friends. That usually diverts a thirsty girl’s attention.”
“So you won’t cheat?”
“I won’t cheat and I’ll only go to celebratory parties if it’ll comfort you.”
“No, I don’t want to take away your social life.”
“But would it bring you comfort?”
“Yes, but I’ll still feel guilt.”
“You won’t be taking away my social life or status. This is my own offer that I’m willing to do. Plus, if you date me, I’ll be happy to protect you.”
You deeply inhaled and considered the options for a split second. “We can have a public relationship and you can still attend all the parties you want, just no cheating.”
“I would never cheat, especially on a woman like you. Are you sure about going public and the parties?”

A/N: This is more of based in the future (a few years, not several).
Sorrow || Surprise ||
Your heart was on the verge of exploding. He was coming home today after two years, even though it felt much longer. You had only seen him enough times to count on one hand ever since his enlistment and it was only for thirty minutes.
You were so nervous that your hands trembled and you felt cold no matter how high you turned up the heater. The jingling of keys came from the other side of the front door and your heart jumped. The time was an hour later than the estimate you had been given for his arrival, but you brushed it off that he was probably hanging out with some friends and having a beer or two.
The door swung open to reveal his handsome, tired face that remained bright looking. His face lit up with a smile and he left his luggage at the door to catch you in his arms. You hadn’t realized it, but you had ran to him and your chest collided with his in a tight embrace. He set you down firmly on the floor and held your face in his hands, his thumbs rubbing your cheeks and his eyes studying your face, as if to make sure you were real.
“Oh, I missed you so much, baby girl,” he whispered and passionately kissed you. His lips felt and tasted the same, and you eagerly returned the much wanted kiss. “You haven’t changed one bit. You’re still as gorgeous as an angel.”
“And you’re still devilishly handsome.” You pecked his lips and walked over to his luggage. “Let’s get you settled in.” You each grabbed a bag and started unpacking, placing everything into its designated drawer. “How was your time in the military?”
“Eh, it was fine. Made some new friends. Had a few guys ask me if they can get an autograph for their daughter. I can’t really complain, even though there were a few guys that teased me about being an idol. Why is it as hot as Hades in here?”
“Oops... My anxiousness made me feel a little cold.” You chuckled and went over to the thermostat, turning it down to a cooler temperature.
You sat up in bed, excitedly waiting for Chansung to come out of the bathroom and join you in bed. After a few minutes, he came out wearing boxers and a black t-shirt, and his hair still wet from taking a shower. He looked so breathtakingly handsome and his presence made you officially feel at home. Ever since his enlistment, nothing felt quite right.
He chuckled and ran his fingers through his wet locks. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
You shyly giggled and looked away, staring down at your hands. “Sorry, I guess I’m just happy you’re home.”
He crawled beneath the covers with you and pulled you to him so that you looked at him. “I’m happy to be home.” He kissed you and reached over to turn off the lamp. In the dark, both of you got comfortable and snuggled, needing to be near each other. Now that he was with you again, his scent filled your lungs and quickly relaxed you, soon drifting off to sleep.
It felt like your heart was about to explode, both from the noise pollution in the airport and from adrenaline. You tapped your ticket and passport against your knee for the millionth time and rechecked that it was for a flight to Tokyo. You had only ever been to your home country and South Korea, so flying to a whole new country where you could barely even introduce yourself in their native tongue made your nerves on edge. Your flight was called and you rushed to the gates, barely giving guards a minute to check your information.
The flight wasn’t too bad; it was pretty typical for coach. Snacks were the typical peanuts and pretzels and they occasionally handed out beverages. The only negative incident was that the man sitting next to you had originally come close to fighting you for the window seat. He only calmed down when security told him to either sit down or leave the plane with no ticket refund. There had been no children to kick your seat or cry and the man would sometimes mutter in attempts to start a conversation, but realized he was no good at holding one and gave up. He was flying to Tokyo for business and you felt like an idiot and must have seemed delusional for saying you were going for Taecyeon without specifying who he was to you.
You got off the plane and got a cab to the hotel that he was staying at, already knowing the fake name he used. It was difficult to persuade the staff that he was your boyfriend, but they eventually believed you and gave you a keycard to his room. You quickly placed your luggage into his room and started straightening up. His room was a mess of clothes strewn everywhere, so he must have been running late.
Your plan was to spend a few days with him here and then return to Korea so he can continue the tour. You had considered surprising him backstage but decided against it, because there was no flight that was just at the right time for you to arrive in time for the concert but not too early to where the surprise was ruined. You didn’t know how long it would be until the concert was over, but busied yourself with organizing everything.
You were lying in his bed when he came into the hotel room, sweaty but happy. You jumped out of bed and ran to him, jumping on him and clinging onto his neck. He smelled awful, but you suppressed any gags and planted a kiss on his lips.
When you pulled away, he was grinning like an idiot. He was absolutely head-over-heels for you and you knew it, but never took advantage of it. “My precious angel is here,” he whispered and rested his forehead against yours.
“I am.” Your hands stroked his hair as you spoke, “I hope you don’t mind sharing a room with me for a little bit.”
“Of course not! I know that you’re incredibly stubborn and refuse to use my money, even though your job is rather shitty...” What he said made you flinch a little bit, but you didn’t deny it; it was true. “What are you doing here? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s perfect. I just wanted to surprise you.”
While dozing off, you felt a sudden pressure behind you. You were too tired to even react or see who it was, but you were pretty sure it was your girlfriend. Her group f(x) was practicing for a comeback that was going to come along at some point, depending on how excited SM is to see MeU’s happy.
“How... was practice?,” you managed to slur out. You came so close to completely falling asleep halfway through the question.
She sighed heavily and you could tell she was shaking her head. “It went fine. A little hectic, because Luna fell due to lack of nutrition and Kai decided to pay Krystal a visit. Of course Krystal wound up leaving for dinner because she forgot about learning the dance. Victoria and I were the only ones capable of really doing anything.”
You barely heard anything she said, as if your ears themselves had fallen asleep. “Have you showered off yet?” Amber groaned and you chuckled to yourself. “Go ahead and shower.”
“I’ll only shower if you stay awake.”
“Babe, I’m so tired and so close to being asleep. How am I supposed to stay away?”
She got out of bed and picked you up, catching you off guard. “You can walk around the bathroom while I shower.” She walked into the bathroom and stood you up on the cold tile floor. You whined as she stripped and got into the shower, turning on the hot water.
“This isn’t fair.” You kicked at the floor and trudged around the humid, steamy room.
She laughed. “How is this not fair?”
“Because I’m tired!”
“What have you done all day?” The scent of her shampoo filled the room. It smelled delightful, like flowers.
You scrunched up your nose and stuck your tongue out at the shower curtain. “Quit asking so many questions.”
She scoffed. “Quit sticking your tongue out and pouting.”
You jumped and instantly put your tongue back into your mouth, glaring at where you guessed she was standing. “I was not doing that.”
“Angel, I know you well enough to know that’s a lie.”
“Fine, maybe I was doing that...” You lifted yourself onto the counter and sat down. The water turned off and Amber stepped out, covered by a fluffy towel. “Hurry up. I want to sleep.”
“Do you want me to go to bed naked?”
You winked at her. “That’d be pretty hot. Do it!”
She laughed and shook her head. “I don’t feel like catching a cold, especially if I’m not even getting any.” She dried off and pulled on some loose clothing.
You held out your arms and grabbed at the air. “Carry me to the bed!”
“Are you incapable of walking?”
“Yes!” She walked over to you and picked you up, carrying you back to bed. She lay you down on the bed and lay next to you. You turned your back to her and she did her usual thing of wrapping her arms around your waist. “Hey, Amber?”
“Yes, Y/N?”
“Goodnight... I love you...” Your cheeks heated up.
She smiled against your shoulder blade. “I love you, too.”
