A Little Peak Into my Hobby Outside of Obey Me: Doll Customizing
Since Groove (the company that makes the Pullip family of dolls) doesn't have any tan Isul dolls, I unfortunately had to do it myself
On the left is the original skin tone of the doll and on the right is me working a little magic and my doll's new skin will look like :D
How did I do it? Well
Firstly, I had to use a very fine grit sandpaper (I used 600 grit to sand it down and make the plastic less shiny then a 1500-2000 grit sandpaper to smooth it out. Don't be an idiot like me the first time and use a nail buffer! The texture on that is way too coarse)
Second, I sprayed the face with Mr. Super Clear sealant three times
Third, I mixed a variety of skin tones of pan pastels (you can use regular chalk pastels) to make it match the first doll I customized (she's already a tan doll so I used her for reference since the doll I plan to customize is her little brother.) For the pan pastels, I used Burnt Sienna Tint, Red Iron Oxide Tint, Yellow Ochre Tint, and hints of the regular Burnt Sienna
Fourth, Once I was able to color match my doll, I started layering on the pastels (I went in with the brush first, then I used the sponge that came with the kit (I suppose a regular unused beauty sponge could work since the texture reminded me of one but I'm not sure). Once I was done, I sprayed on one final layer of Mr. Super Clear
Oh and pro-tip if you use this sealant, wear a mask since the fumes are extremely toxic
