You're very welcome, dear!

I posted this Situation update a year ago and as you may have noticed since then this blog has gone into hibernation.

This blog has since its start been a passionate project for me, but a part of why I’ve stepped back from it is that I never foresaw that we would get rec list requests, let alone so many of them. Every time I think I need to come back to this blog and be more productive I remember the mountain of asks in the inbox waiting for answers and feel overwhelmed.

So I’m going to be Closing the inbox for now. We’re not going to be accepting asks on this blog until further notice. And while the inbox is closed, I can start to chip down on that mountain of requests little by little, I hope.

The Author spotlight is also put on pause for now. The Spotlights have been Admin Sage’s domain and they’re taking time off fandom right now.

I’m not going to give up on this blog. It’s been wholly mine from the start and it’s a passion project of mine. But I also don’t have it in me to make fandom into a second job on top of my full-time job. There’s only so much energy in me to give.

I want to try to be better and ease back into making posts here again, but I also have to be aware of my boundaries and how much time and energy I will have to spare to this blog.

Q: Is your inbox open? A: Yes

Q: What is your personal philosophy? A: I'm not sure I have anything set in stone as such... But something I've been trying to live by especially online for this past year has been: 1. Choose to be kind and, 2. Be the positivity you want to see in the world.

Q: What's one thing you couldn't live without?  A: Probably my phone lol It has a camera and an internet connection, it has Discord and Tumblr among other things, and it has a ton of music and books. It's synced to my gdocs. So not only can I shop online, entertain myself, keep in contact with my friends with it, it also enables all my hobbies lol

Q: What are you listening to/reading these days?  A: I'm currently reading Devon Monk's Allie Beckstrom series though taking a brief break from it to read Paulette Jiles' News of the World (a library loan I need to return in 5 days lol). Lately I've been listening to a true crime podcast called Casefile.

Q: Who/What is your biggest inspiration? A: One of my early influences is David Eddings, whose books were a personal favourite growing up. As to fanfiction, honestly the entire SessKag fandom inspires me. It's brimming with such talent and full of the loveliest people and so staunch in their support that it never fails to astonish me! 💙💙💙

Q: When did you get into the SessKag fandom?  A: I first got into SessKag in the murky old days of 2005, when after starting to watch Inuyasha my friend, who happened to ship SessKag at the time, introduced me to fanfiction. Month or two later I was already writing fics of my own. And for the longest time, that's as far as it went. I'd write fic, I'd interact with my readers, but I wasn't really involved in the fandom beyond that. Until I joined the SessKag server on Discord in 2018 and started making friends with everyone. Later that same year, I inherited the SessKag blog here on Tumblr and I've been up to my ears in SessKag fandom since lol

Q: What made you choose to become an admin for the SKFA? A: The archive was already there and had three rec lists when the previous admin of the SessKag blog stepped down and the blog was offered to me. It was something I really wanted to expand upon, because I thought it had a lot of potential to help people find fic, and I'd seen similar fic rec/archive blogs before and in other fandoms. As I started to gather fics to make more rec lists, I realised it would be better to make the archive it's own separate blog - so I did! I wanted to create a SessKag library of sorts, because libraries are close to my heart lol

Q: What do you like most about being an admin for the SKFA? A: I like being able to help people. And it's always a good feeling when you can find the fics someone's requested and compile a list for them. 😊

Q: What's your favorite SessKag moment from Inuyasha and why?  A: I think their very first meeting in Inu no Taishou's grave. I mean the whole "Oops, it slipped" and "What are you" are iconic, tbh - not to even mention how she stood up to him. 💙

Sorry, I ran out of space in the last ask! Or could we perhaps start a masterlist on this blog that people can contribute to and make note of fics to save? I hope that makes some sense and I'm just speaking rubbish! 😂♥️♥️

I can definitely start a masterlist if people feel there is a need for such. To begin with, it would be easy enough to go over the rec lists we've created here at the archive and make note of any fics that have been only posted on FFnet.

The immediate ones I would want to see saved that come to mind are fics by Tally Mark and Just A Starving Writer and some of RosieB's fics, but I'm sure there are plenty of other authors who only have their fics posted on FFnet. That's why I appealed to the fandom as a whole, everyone has read different fics and has different favourites so everyone together could name/save much more fics than one person alone.

Another tip I might offer for anyone who is willing to save fics and would want to keep them organised is a software called Calibre. I personally use it with ebooks and it's very handy.
