Why is your blog called rare and unpopular hetalia opinions, when your content is actually what every hetalian needs to hear, and everything you post is so rational and makes sense compared to the mainstream of the fandom?
Iâm quite happy you think that way, Anon, though my opinions are only in the tags of the posts with the rare times I add as an after part. Â >w>;;Â
Credit for the content, however, should go to my followers and those submitting. Â Seriously, a big, hearty thanks to everyone who submits, likes, follows and reblogs! Thanks for keeping this blog alive! :D
Though to answer your question seriously, Anon, I can think of some reasons:
1. Most fans are immature. However, keep in mind that not all immature fans are teenagers. Â There are a good number of teenage fans who are quite rational and sane. Â In contrast, there are also a good number of adult fans who get pretty bratty if their opinion is disagreed with or criticized. Â Iâve definitely bumped into my fair share during my five years in Hetalia.
2. Most fans are shippers. Â Shipping is probably one of the biggest causes of rifts in a fandom. Â For some reason, people cannot seem to accept that people have different tastes and opinions, and there is nothing wrong with that. Â Though this point is rampant in other fandoms (Iâve seen it in JoJo and Ace Attorney, however, itâs not as prevalent compared to Hetalia), it still doesnât excuse bad behaviour. Â Hetaliaâs shipping fandom is definitely pretty bad, but it also depends on what you ship and where you are. Â I havenât bumped into anyone one Tumblr yet. Â Iâve sadly seen a couple on DeviantArt and had one nasty encounter with a Spamano fan who used to spam me with plenty of hate comments and notes for almost two years back in 2015.
3. Some fans are self-insert floozies.  This is sadly more prevalent in the MMD Hetalia community which I used to take an active part of.  Whatâs even sadder is that most of these floozies get easily defensive when you try to give even a drop of constructive criticism and scream at you for being a âbullyâ.  They fit in Point 1 of being immature.
4. Stubborn OC creators.  From what Iâve observed on both DeviantArt and Tumblr, most Hetalia OCâs are, excuse my French, shit.  Rarely researched well, shipping fodder, Purity Shipping Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu fodder.  OCâs in the Hetalia fandom was what turned me off from OCâs for quite a while - another encounter with a bratty Philippines OC creator didnât help.  My diving into the JoJo fandom was when I started to give OCâs more of a chance and I even created a few (though theyâre Stands).  In Hetalia, however, nobody likes a poorly researched OC, but for some reason, if itâs âcuteâ itâs forgiven.  What the serious frack?
5. Misogynist brats. Â Theyâre trash. Â Nothing more needs to be said.
There are probably far more points I can think of, but for now, Iâll just leave it here. Â Either way, the Hetalia fandom, though not as rampant as it was last year, is still suffering from the above points, and hence why this blog can still be true to its name.
Originally, I was only expecting stuff like âI love DenFin, itâs so underratedâ (rare ships) or âI headcanon that Vietnam doesnât drink all the water in her cup due to her tradition of how thatâs considered rudeâ (cultural and fun headcanons) or âI think HetaHazard is an awesome game that deserves more attentionâ (underrated stuff).  However, Iâm really happy at seeing and discussing the submissions you give.  Truly, they do make this blog alive.
