6: A kiss on the cheek

Janis hadn’t expected the kindness. Her relationship with Regina had been on and off, mostly off since well middle school. Yet when Janis found herself breaking down from the stress of the world and memories that haunted her, she found herself on Reginas doorstep. Janis would claim that it was because Cady wasn’t answering her phone because of some boy. Janis knew deep down it was because no one else would quite know her history like Regina. So it wasn’t quite a surprise when Janis was able to come in.  After a long time of being on her couch Janis slowly packed her things. She leaned in and gently kissed Reginas cheek “I miss this version of you sometime”.  Janis rocked back on her heels. “thank you, I wont make this a habbit” and then she fled the presence of her former best friend.

Kayden knew that he had taken a risk by asking her for help before. Not that she really knew who he was, or what he had been asking her to do. Hell, she could believe he was MI5 for all he cared. It worked for him really, but he knew that he had managed to get her involved in something he shouldn’t have. Ah well, as was life. If she was sensible and stayed away from it all, she’d be fine. If not... she was an idiot. 

Of course that didn’t work so well when he saw who she was talking to. Just had to be in a day when he wanted to go home and have a nap. Especially as he knew the other man had a knife. The again, so did he. Sighing he went over, instantly moving between her and the other man. “Go home. This doesn’t concern you” he said to her, fully prepared to do whatever was needed.

There were ups and downs of being in a gang, the upside was an outlet to all the darkness he harbored and being able to be a part of something that gave him that rush but with a purpose. The downside was the situation that happened tonight, him and Regina walking back to his place after a night out. Thankfully, he wasn’t completely plastered, he didn’t want Regina to be able to hold his drunkenness over his head so he was only holding a slight buzz when someone approached them. It only took a few seconds for JD to notice the knife in his hand, saying that he knew what was going on and what he had coming to him before motioning to the blonde with a sick grin. It was in that moment that JD took his opportunity while the guy was distracted, stepping between them and in a swift motion, hitting the guy’s wrist to disarm him of the knife. “Regina, get back....go!” He yelled at her before feeling a swift hit to his jaw, making the mechanic actually spit out some blood with a devious smile on his lips, “Oh, you wanna have fun?” JD cooed back to the guy before turning back to him with a nod, arm cocking back to prepare for a gnarly fight.

The redhead was downright the most adorable thing she had ever seen, wide-eyed and bright smile, something in Maureen liked making her nervous. They had been out all day sightseeing, enjoying the rare peek of sunshine through London’s normal cloudy skies, before the smallest amount of drizzle decided to make it’s appearance for the day. Laughing, the duo ran to get some cover before Maureen shook her head in amusement as Ariel began to soak up the rain with an even bigger smile on her face. “Fuck it.” Maureen said as she joined her, letting her clothes get soaking wet as they splashed around and it was actually so nice to just not give a fuck in the moment. That’s why there was a more gentle smile as the singer reached out and grabbed the red head’s wrist, pulling her close to place a tiny kiss on her cheek, “I really needed this today, thank you.”
