oh man, so let me start this off by saying i am the saltiest motherfucker when it comes to redacted canon, so despite how much i adore sam, this whole situation put me off and still has me side-eyeing timelines and whatnot.Â
but that aside, probably sometime around cartagena â nathanâs appearance really makes it seem like heâs older in the flashbacks at saint francisâ boysâ academy, but who really knows, considering graphical differences and everything with next gen character models and the works, but iâd say that the excursion to retrieve sir francis drakeâs ring came a couple years after sam had decided to change their surname, most likely while sam was off attempting to nab something else in correlation to nathan getting the ring. their meet-up included sully, due to nathanâs immediate trust in the man, and sam was never anything but suspicious of his intentions, though felt significantly better that nathan wasnât alone during the many times he got himself sent to jail.Â
sully probably never really liked sam, either, immediately assuming he forced nathan into the life they were leading without giving the boy a chance to take his own path, but they were civil with one another after a couple of spats of raised voices, and for nathanâs sake growing up. sam had decided that they both saw enough of that type of behavior with their father and wasnât about to be the reason his little brother was further emotionally scarred.
