What surprises people is that a good level of stress is actually benefical to our body (eustress), when this occurs you are happy, functioning well and totally dominating your day. It also helps positive adaptations in muscle mass, neural stimulation, exercises our hormones and brain. The problem occurs once we put ourselves in a prolonged or chronic stress pattern. After we hit our optimal peak the decrease in performance also relates to our health, well being and our hormones ability to function optimally meaning illnesses and then eventually autoimmune disorders. So what's the cure? Since becoming a functional health and wellness practitioner, I am finally adopting this quote. I have often been seen as an all of nothing person and to my credit I have done pretty well in life.
