His mothers had said it would be a bad idea to spend the summer before senior year with his estranged father. And honestly he couldn’t find an evidence that proved them wrong. His father had thus far said a total of maybe twenty unique words to him. He was always busy with work. So finally Adam trekked down to the local coffee shop curling up with the textbook he bought to freshening up on before college starts this fall. He’s running his eyes over the pages when he notices the other male.
They’re in here everyday Adam’s noticed, and today it’s particularly crowded with no tables open and most seats filled. Adam pulls his legs off the chair across from him at his table and straightens his posture before calling out the other. “Hey, you can, you can sit here if you’d like,” Adam suggests a small smile forming on his face.
