Videogames en hun invloed op mijn leven.
Mijn leven is gevuld met computers. Ik ga naar school en ik werk aan een computer, ik kom thuis en ik zit aan een computer. Van amusement tot notities maken alles doe ik met zo’n machine. Dus op zich ben ik een persoon wiens leven compleet anders zou zijn zonder deze machines. Persoonlijk gebruik ik deze machines het meeste voor mijn entertainment. Met name films en videogames. En die laatste dan nog het meeste van de 2. En op zich heeft dat fijne voordelen. Het zorgt voor afleiding en helpt tegen verveling, wat trouwens echt een angst is van me, soms helpt het om me af te kunnen reageren na een zware schooldag ofzo. Daarbovenop helpt het me om sociaal te zijn. Zo heb ik al veel mensen leren kennen in multiplayer spelletjes. Maar er zijn ook negatieve dingen aan verbonden. Uiteraard. Ik verlies veel tijd aan Videogames, terwijl ik beter een paper zou schrijven of verder werken aan opdrachten. Zit ik lekker mijn videogames te spelen. Wat ik ook kan begrijpen als je mij dan ziet spelen. Dan lijk ik asociaal, maar dat is meestal niet echt zo. Ik ben misschien wel asociaal tegenover jou, maar ik zal dan meestal met iemand anders bezig zijn. Dus ja, videogames hebben zo hun voordelen. Maar ook hun nadelen. Het ding dat mij zo geïnteresseerd maakt is het principe dat je alles kan doen. Letterlijk alles. Je kan een ontdekkingsreiziger in de ruimte zijn. Je kan een gangster op de straten van LA zijn. Je kan een stedenbouwer zijn. Etc. je hebt zo veel mogelijkheden en zo veel nieuwe dingen die je kan proberen. Zonder dat je er iets me in de echte wereld kan verknallen. Oei, mijn raket is ontploft en mijn reizigers zijn dood. Restart. Oei, mijn personage is neergeschoten bij een ondergaande zon. Restart. Je hebt geen nadelen aan iets verknoeien. En zo wordt je beter in dingen. Door fouten te begaan en daar dan uit te leren. Dus op een manier is digitaal iets bijleren de beste manier. Want je fouten hebben geen diepe consequenties. Behalve dan dat je een hele boel tijd kan verliezen.
