Hey, I'm Eren! Please tag as ad899. I'm figuring it's a lost cause, but do you have any way to stop nightmares?? I have PTSD and I have nightmares 9/10 times that I sleep, and I find myself staying awake until I literally pass out from exhaustion. Thanks!!

I commend you, Eren, for lasting this long with thenightmares but please don’t think there is no answer. It is very common fortrauma survivors to suffer from nightmares. Sometimes they go away in time butthere are many reports on long term sufferers. If you’ve done any readingonline, you may be familiar with a daytime treatment of taking yourself throughthe nightmare but giving it a different ending. Over and over until that is howyou imagine the trauma or nightmares so they actually go away. Also, if is commonthat the real cause is sleep apnea for trauma survivors. Your breathing isinterrupted while you sleep so you don’t fall into the deep sleep which isdreamless. You get stuck in REM sleep where dreaming happens. There is researchfor a med for helping with bad dream but I don’t know if something is availableyet.
Most importantly, there is treatment and you can see someoneby asking your doctor for a few phone numbers for the experts. Don’t live likethis. Call your doctor!
Good luck!
