Youtube CEO: Okay I have a great idea, we'll have ads on our website. So many ads, before every video. Two and they'll be unskippable. And then interrupting and at the end of the video as well. And if people don't like that, they can pay an insane amount of money (during a cost of living crisis where people can BARELY AFFORD FOOD AND RENT) to get rid of them. It's perfect!
Youtube CEO: Wait, why is everyone using an ad-blocker and not paying us money?????????????
and it's gotten worse... great

Hey! Hello, @staff!🐸
If you can see that I'm using an ad-blocker, you should also be able to see that: a) I've got it turned off while I'm on Tumblr, b) I already have an Ad-Free Subscription, and c) I've allowed Blazed ads, even with my paid subscription, because, yes, I do know that ads keep this hellsite running. Did you know you don't have to sell a service to someone who's already bought it? It's a win-win, really. 💖
Tumblr's not the only site on the Internet. I'm keeping my ad-blocker.✨
