So my mission this week is to get a cell phone and a bank account and then I'll feel more like an actual human.
Actual Conversation with a 10-year-old
Kylie: Who are you talking to?
Me: the cat.
Kylie: kitten.
Me: A kitten is a type of cat.
Kylie: ...No it's not.
Me: Just like a baby is a person a kitten is a cat.
Kylie: No a baby is a baby and a kitten is a kitten.
Me: So a baby's not a person?
Kylie: Not for the moment.
I, too, am an animal lover. However, I have my one exception. There is an animal I cannot stand and I fear them with such intensity that I nearly have a heart attack when exposed to them. That animal is the turtle. Are there any animals of which you are afraid?
There are quite a few that I wouldn't want to be very close to (think lions, tigers, and bears! oh my), but if I was with someone who knew about their habits and assured me of how I was supposed to act I would probably be fine. One of the things I've considered doing with my life is actually being a veterinarian for exotics which would require a whole heck of a lot of animal-behavior-type training and I like to think I'd be able to handle it. I'm sorry about the turtle phobia. =/ I kind of think they're adorable.
I love when people reblog my graphics and so I go look at their blog and can tell immediately what tag they're currently wading through.

So I just toasted some leftover bread and spread nutella on it. And my dog came over and sat and stared at me, like I was gonna let him lick the knife when I was done. You're funny. You know that's going straight in my mouth.
I did read your history reply (all of it hehe) and was interesting cause I've never really learnt about those areas. Anyway. Wondering if you had to chose to lead the life of any fictional character, who would you be and why? :)
(If anyone wants to read the history reply — even though it’s long and all discombobulated — you can do so here.)Oh dear this was difficult. I considered cheating and doing one from literature and one from television, but actually after some deliberation there’s a clear winner.
Veralidaine Sarrasri (Daine) from The Immortals (and later Tortall books) by Tamora Pierce. (img source)First of all I have this thing about animals. Veterinarian is one of my very likely career paths (the other being academic), and for good reason. As a kid I wanted to be able to talk to animals (and have them answer — I talk to them all the time), and when I read these books for the first time around age 9 I just fell in love with Tammy’s definitions/parameters of wild magic. Yes. Please. That is exactly what I’d like. And then she started in on being able to shapeshift and well that settled that. Daine is also the reason that I grew up loving archery so much. Some people credit Katniss or Legolas, but my archery inspiration was always Daine. The descriptions of how she shoots, her hunting — and eventually giving it up — her showing up those boys in Carthak in Emperor Mage, and just her attitude toward her bow in general I just…I love Daine a lot okay. And unlike my other favorite Tortall heroes (Alanna and Aly), I could actually see myself being very happy with Daine’s life.
okay what I cannot be the only one who sees so many things wrong with this sign
