I wanna talk about time traveling in the animal crossing community and how toxic it has gotten here.
I've played animal crossing since wild world and I always time travelled, I saw nothing wrong with it. I did all the things I could on one day and when I grew bored I skipped to the next. I was never really active in the animal crossing community until new horizons came out and I saw all the memes about it, so I started following some ac accounts. The more I looked through the ac tag on Twitter the more toxicity I saw regarding time travel. People saying it's cheating and that the game isn't meant to be played that way really hurt my feelings since I had been playing it this way since day one. There were so many people saying it's cheating that I started feeling really bad about the way and I play and felt like all my accomplishments were just cheats and it made me feel terrible. So I started playing without time travel and it just wasn't as fun to me. Especially in quarantine you run out of things to do on one day relatively quick. But I still don't play with time travel because of how awful the toxic community made me feel about it. And I think that's so wrong. I shouldn't feel terrible for playing a game the way I do. I shouldn't have to play it the way it's accepted by the community, even though I'm bored when I do, just so no one will attack me. And all this about probably the most peaceful game ever. At the end of the day everyone should be able to play their game however they want. Please stop bashing people because they time travel.
