In literature we have stories told in the first person, using “I.” In movies POV happens when the camera captures what a character sees. While usually human, the character could be an animal, a robot, or an extraterrestrial. In a documentary of a child’s birthday party, we might see the cake from the child’s POV; in music video, the band’s POV of the audience; in a horror picture, the hero’s POV when opening a squeaky door.
