Yes, you can create activities too! Here is how you can get started:

1. Think of a topic you are teaching.

2. Think of a question on the topic that involves writing or drawing.

3. Create an activity by using this question as the basis. It is as simple as typing the question into a form.

4. Publish to student iPads and have your students interact

Research has shown that student engagement, comprehension and retention improves significantly when using multimedia in learning.

Multiple representations of content (text, video, audio, images, interactive elements) effectively cater to the different learning styles of students.

Common Core Standards emphasize comprehension and analysis of information using different modalities.

What if you as a teacher can select a video relevant to your daily lesson and send it to student iPad(s) easily. Wouldn't you want to do that? 

For Example:

You are a 2nd Grade teacher teaching a unit on animals. You can select a kid-safe video on Youtube and have kids view it in the safety of an iPad app.

You are a 5th Grade teacher teaching poetry. You have a how-to video you created and uploaded to Vimeo. You want students to watch this video on an iPad and answer questions. How would you do that?

You use LearnZillion and want your students to watch a lesson video and you want to assess their understanding. How would you do that?

Frolyc will help you achieve the above. Frolyc's activity creation tool allows you to include video in an activity you create. When you publish this activity, your students will view the videos on Activity Spot iPad app. It will take 5 minutes or less for you to do this.

Here are the steps to include videos from 3 different sources:

Video from youtube.com

Go to youtube.com and select the video you want to include in your activity.

Copy the URL from the browser window. The URL must be of format: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IadDFtkR6as

In Frolyc's authoring tool, create a new activity page. Select the activity type "Reading Comprehension". Then select the sub-activity-type "Video Comprehension". 

Click on the video icon on the page and paste the youtube URL you copied from step 2 here. 

Save & publish the activity to Activity Spot iPad. The video now will play on the app.

Go to vimeo.com and select the video you want to include in your activity.

Copy the URL from the browser window. URL is of the format http://vimeo.com/34389594

In Frolyc's authoring tool, select a new activity page for your activity. Choose the activity type "Webpage Link".

Paste the URL you copied in step #2 on the web page link URL text field.

Click on the "Yes, allow students to navigate on this page" radio button.

Save & publish the activity to Activity Spot iPad. The video now will play on the app.

Go to learnzillion.com and select the video you want to include in your activity.

Copy the URL from the browser window. 

In Frolyc's authoring tool, select a new activity page for your activity. Choose the activity type "Webpage Link".

Paste the URL you copied in step #2 on the web page link URL text field.

Click on the "Yes, allow students to navigate on this page" radio button.

Save & publish the activity to Activity Spot iPad. The video now will play on the app.
