In the help session on April 17th we discussed descriptive language as discussed on p. 67 of your textbook, and also elaborated on that covered in the book by talking about active, precise verbs. We talked about this website, which has a long list of active verbs you can use in writing and speech: http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~cainproj/writingtips/preciseverbs.html
As a way to expand your vocabulary and then also as a future tool to use when writing papers, I suggest defining all the vocab words above and trying to use them in a sentence. If you would like me to look over your definitions, feel free to leave the vocab in the box labeled "Student Work- Professor Laura" in the lab office.
