Heart pounding in his chest, Adrien stormed away from Marinette’s office. His fists curled as his heavy footsteps sounded off the floor. He tried to clear his head, but the argument replayed in his mind again and again. Her cold demeanour. The steely look in her blue eyes. Her saying all those horrible things….  And why had she mentioned Chloé, of all people?

Marinette picked up a card and played it, smiling sweetly at Adrien. ‘Looks like you miss a go.’

A rush of pleasure made his skin tingle. Forget what he’d thought earlier - she was definitely competitive, and he was loving it.

He smiled widely, unable to help it. ‘I’m sure I’ll recover.’

Arms trembling from the weight of the bags she was carrying, Marinette struggled through her apartment door. With her work schedule she’d already been tired, but after everything that had happened earlier, worry had burned through her, draining anything she had left. What she needed was at least forty-eight hours of sleep.

AGRESTE AND ROSSI END RELATIONSHIP!  The ending we all saw coming was confirmed this morning, with Lila Rossi informing her loyal legions on Instagram that her relationship with Adrien Agreste is over. Adrien walked silently to Le Grenier à Pain alongside Marinette, equal parts delighted and apprehensive. What was he thinking, inviting her to check out a boulangerie with him? He should be locked up in his house watching repeats of Parks and Recreation, not strolling along in one of the busiest tourist areas in Paris with Marinette. Ben and Lila were going to skin him alive. Paparazzi could be anywhere. But …

Marinette swirled her cereal around her bowl as she tried to focus on the story that Alya was telling from the other side of the dining table. But try as she might, her concentration slipped, sliding down the well-worn grooves of her present worry - had she practised her plan enough to get Winston to do more work?
