Real tears.
I’ll always love “S”, especially for it’s comedy, and great dramatic moments we didn’t get in Infinity, but Crystal Season III has been just as amazing, for completely different reasons.
I need to catch my breath.
The farewell between Chibiusa and Hotaru, dare I say it, had far more impact in animation than it did on the page. I rewatched several times and ran to get my manga. Heart. Breaking.
Mistress 9 creeped me all the way out in this episode. I think this is the first episode that to me, transcended the text, and while remaining faithful, added just enough to make it its own.
I do wish Tux got his own mini-henshin, as I could have survived without another Moon Spiral Heart Attack (that didn’t work), but that’s nitpicky.
So. Yeah. Rewatching now. I’ll have to completely revamp my top 5 Crystal episodes list after this season.
