“happy birthday!” holly went a little crazy with streamers and balloons around the living room. she even had a cake that she ordered (but decorated on her own) on the table next to his present (a new lego set that she thought was so cute!). “it kinda explains why i told you to sit in your room for a little bit. it took me a little longer than i thought.” holly was a perfectionist when it came to these sort of things. “come on, blow out the candles and make a wish!” of course, she had to go with the sparkler candles.

“ hey there, quick question. ” her slightly accented greek accent hitching as she works to remember how to be polite. “ what would you recommend for a one year old. I’ve never bought toys before so i’m lost. ” that and she needed something to distract herself. her features are soft, and well she’d walk away if he wanted her too. it was his choice.

it was always sweet to hear caleb tell her he was proud of her, to have someone cheering her on at home. she put her glasses on her head, reaching to hold his hand across the couch. reaching over her laptop was a bit of a stretch. holly smiled, letting herself blush. “i know you are. and thank you.” she needed to hear it. fashion was a pretty intense field to get into. “sometimes i feel a little stuck but i’ve got someone here to help me.” she knew she had caleb on her side, no matter what happened between the two of them.

“yeah i do.” holly said from the couch, holding a pillow to her stomach. “i took your shirt, woke you up and i’m watching you make me waffles at...” holly glanced over at the clock. “...two in the morning. all while i just sit here.” she had a little (okay, a lot) too much champagne and the heels didn’t help much. to make it worse, caleb seemed so okay with it. it made her feel even worse. “i’m still sorry.”

liv was laying draped over caleb’s chest, an arm wrapped around his waist, half-asleep as they cuddled. fingers were lightly dancing across his skin, barely thinking about what she was doing. a heart traced here, a star drawn there, a circle, a triangle, another heart. she loved early mornings like this, just enjoying the company of each other, where nothing else mattered but the two of them. where all they had to worry about was when they were going to get up and make breakfast. little things they barely had to think about. she loved, loved, loved mornings like this. she tilts her head up and presses a kiss to caleb’s lips, eyes slipping closed.
