Preparation is key
"So, you ever coming out? You didn't come to the party after the parade and you didn't do any training on the first day. You gunna just mope around and wait until it's over?" Ophelia said, giving me a cross look and an unapproving tap of her foot. I closed the book I was reading. I didn't have many back at home and since I got in the extravagant suite and the gigantic bookcase, all I could think about was getting deep into the collection. So yeah, excuse me for "moping" around. The current book I was reading was The Art of War. It all made a lot of sense and connected with me so easily. It was like running the trap game back home. Know your enemy and know yourself and all that jazz. "Thanks Ophelia. Yeah I've planned everything out. The way I see it, there are thirteen stations that I can scale from one to ten on how I think I stack up, based on my life experiences." "Oh really now? Do tell." I could tell I piqued her interest, judging by how much her eyebrows arched. "Mmhmm. So check this out. We have first aid, poisons & antidotes, long range weapons, melee weapons, hand to hand, track and field, traps and knots, swimming, survival skills, climbing wall, gymnastics, laser tag and free weights. And the way I see it I can knock a few off that list as I don't see them necessary." Ophelia interrupted me, "Oh so you think you know better than the game masters now?" "No not like that. For example, free gym. A couple hours of even super intense training weight training, is going to make you sore for the games without much gain to show. On the flip side, I don't know shit about survival skills or poisons which I think would be pretty damn useful for this ya know? So I'm going to focus on those along with a few others," I had gone over these plans in my mind a thousand times. I went down and saw the posting of what was available and wanted to make sure I was ready to get ready. And now I think I am. "We'll get you ass down there and get to work." "One last chapter then I will I promise." I said, picked up the book and read "Appear weak when you are strong and strong when you are weak."
