Changing a theory when you learn new info is how theories work. I know I was personally taught that in like elementary school science class.

If "we" didn't change our opinions, they'd call us delusional (which they do anyway). But when "we" do change our theories, we're backtracking.

You cannot win in a situation with people who are not reasonable. You cannot be understood by people determined to misunderstand you. And by "people", I mean the bad apples, not the many reasonable and delightful people who have the misfortune of being associated with them by proxy.

This way that they fixate on individuals and harass them is pathetic. This is not how well-adjusted, emotionally mature people behave. This is cult-like behavior. It's not even about ships anymore. It's about dogmatic tribalism and insecure people desperate to feel superior.

The characters are no longer literary devices and plots, they are an essential part of in-group out-group identities.

Their opinions are of no concern to me.

These people will screenshot you. They will mock you. They will harass you. They will stalk you even if you block them. And then call themselves the "victims of the fandom". Typical DARVO tactics. They are rabid narcissists hiding behind screens who thrive off of attention, good or bad.

Which is why I debated not even answering this anon at all.

The best thing we can do is focus on our ships and our joy, especially with the lead-up to Elucien week and then Gwynriel week not long after! I had to go looking for the context for this anon because my feed has been pure positivity and joy lately. And I intend to keep it that way ✨
