6 and 13 for the acosf ask? :)
Ah yayyy, more! Love these so much, thank you!
6) Since we already know we’re getting something - what do you hope we learn about Azriel?
Ooooo! Is everything an acceptable answer? hahah I genuinely would take anything at this point because like true. But specifically, outside of shipping, I would love to know about his mom (Who I am assuming is who he was visiting at Rosenhall) and if it wasn’t her then, whoooo was it? I would also love to understand his powers more since we know how much everyone fears them.
13) Assuming we’ll learn more about Nesta’s Cauldron powers, what do you think they’ll be?
I am really unsure to be honest, I of course want her to be a witch but I feel like more likely to be conected to some old god/goddess... So this is what we know so far;
Nesta was strong enough to resist a High Lords glamour even as a human.
Her gifts have something to do with some kind of flame, but unlike the Autumn courts fire gifts. So maybe the way Aelin wields Wildfire.
She can shatter things with her mind.
She was scrying in ACOWAR with bones. (SOME HELLA WITCH VIBE SHIT)
99% got called “Princess of Decay”
I also would be down for her being some sort of Goddess of Death, I think there is a lot of breadcrumbs to support that theory... They speak about her pillaging death, and she is constantly paralleled to being a “Queen without a throne”/ and The Bone Carvers siblings.
“A rasping laugh as the Carver laid the shard of bone on the ground beside him. “How lovely she is—new as a fawn and yet ancient as the sea. How she calls to you. A queen, as my sister once was. Terrible and proud; beautiful as a winter sunrise.”
“They are death-gods, girl,” the Carver hissed. “You are immortal—or long-lived enough to seem that way. But my siblings and I … We are different. And the two of them … Stronger. So much stronger than I ever was. My sister … she found a way to eat life itself. To stay young and beautiful forever thanks to the lives she steals.”
So here we have the Carver speaking about how much stronger they are, how different they are to other Immortals, they are death-gods. And then when speaking about Nesta in ACOWAR he compares his sister to Nesta.
“I think it’s death,” I said quietly.I held Rhys’s gaze, as if it were again the tether that had kept me in this world. “I think the power is death—death made flesh. Or whatever power the Cauldron holds over such things. That’s why the Carver heard it—heard about her.”
“Hello, sweet thing. Hello, lady of night, princess of decay. Hello, fanged beast and trembling fawn. Love me, touch me, sing me.”
Wiki, attributes that quotes to her but I think it is a reasonable considering all the other apply to others. See this amazing post pointing it out and breaking down this quote.
“Nesta was waiting at the head of the table, a queen ready to hold court. ”
“But she turned to Cassian, looked him over as if she were a queen on a throne, and then declared to all of us,”
“How lovely she is—new as a fawn and yet ancient as the sea. How she calls to you. A queen, as my sister once was. Terrible and proud; beautiful as a winter sunrise.”
“And proud as any queen, Nesta took Elain’s arm and led her from the guardhouse. Mor trailed behind,”
“A queen without a throne. That was what I’d call the painting that swept into my mind.”
“She kept her chin high, the portrait of queenly arrogance.
“Talk to me. Nesta. Tell me—” She ripped her hand out of his grip. Stared him down. A mighty, vengeful queen.”
Listen im not saying she is some kind of reincarnated Queen/Goddess like The Bone Carvers sister but that is also exactly what I am saying, at the very least what I am hoping for!
Sorry you were probably looking for such a long answer haha
