Stuff i've read in 2024 (comics)
Drowning Love/Oboreru knife by George Asakura
Limbo the King by Ai Tanaka
Kamakura BAKEneko Club by Igarashi Daisuke
hibari no asa/hibari's morning by Tomoko Yamashita
Neighborhood story/Gokinjo Monogatari by Ai Yazawa
Haven't read as much as i wanted but i chose to focus this year on the shoujo/josei demographic more and it was worth it!! with drowning love some plots points and very 00s shoujo tropes were frustrating but i love character drama and beautiful art, it def needs a psychological romance label cause...yea. King in limbo was a great scifi/mystery and interesting plot. even if it was just translated i had to shout out to igarashi for favouritism purposes, Hibari no asa and No home are stories that left me...anguished and hopeful? at the same time, No home was a real surprise as i don't read webtoons all that much but its such a great story with complex characters you really feel for. i havent finished Acony but i like the spooky vibes and No.5...i feel like i need to reread the first volumes, i liked it but my brain wasnt in it to absorb all that was going on, i still recommend it tho. While i enjoyed neighbor hood story mostly for the aesthetics its possibly her weakest work out of her catalogue, it was ok i was just not that attached to the characters even if the main character was fun.
honourable recs : Moto hagio hashin(gave me pain moto hagio my beloved legend), centuria, kouji mikomoβs from the beyond(really great art and concept)
