Halcyon #AclandSt #StKilda, 1886, apparently designed by Frederick de Garis & Son. “One of the most sophisticated surviving examples of the many opulent buildings erected in St Kilda during Melbourne’s boom” (heritage citation). The Gothicky lancets formed by the lacework are repeated in the vestibule’s plasterwork, strange in such an exuberantly Italianate building.
