Group of adventurers from the middle ages of my homebrew lore

The lore bits that I have shared here before have all come after their main origin point: A medieval fantasy setting that was intended for a roleplay sesh/DnD campaign but then I never stopped developing it

To keep it brief (because the lore has been in the making for almost a decade) but basically It is the year is 2632 AD United under a single government, called the Sol Aeternum, mankind ventured out towards the stars, made friends or enemies with new alien life forms and eventually helped form what is now known as the Milky Way Alliance (gonna call it MWA from now on), a massive union of planetary governments and militant megacorporations, which now dictate the lives of every soul within the Milky way,

and beyond.

200 years ago, the first ships of the MWA traveled through a wormhole and reached a new galaxy, much larger than ours, which was named Hecatonchira. There, humans met even more aliens, one of which were the Acier - 7 feet tall humanoids (those seen on the drawing) whose warlike civilization used to rule the entire Hecatonchira galaxy but is now in decline due to a massive civil war which brought them to the brink of extinction some 3000 years ago

Feeling threatened by the arrival of people from the Milky way, the True Throne, a meritocratic Acier faction which survived that big war, attacked the MWA settlers, starting the brief Human-Acier voidspace war, which ended in 2547 with the signing of the first peace treaty between the Acier and the united beings of the Milky way, allowing the latter to establish colonies on suitable worlds of the Hecatonchira galaxy

Now, less than a century later, the peace between the MWA and the True Throne is on thin ice because some influential Acier wish to rebuild their ancient empire, which cant be done as long as there are alien corporate colonies all over their galaxy

Also gotta mention that the Hecatonchira galaxy used to be pretty barren, but it was populated by this super powerful civilization some 50 thousand years ago. Known only as the "Star smiths", as humans call them, these aliens created and uplifted all humanoid species in their galaxy (which includes the Acier), before accidentally removing themselves from the equation when they created a biological weapon which broke containment (oops). With their makers gone, the creations were left to fend for themselves and by chance or power of their collective wills, the Acier came out on top

I made one of those compass thingies a while back, mostly as a meme, but it remains the fastest way of presenting the current state of the Hecatonchira galaxy and the factions involved in it

She also recently got something of a redesign. Looking slightly different than her previous iterations (Couldn't remember how much I've posted of the art of her here though waaa but I hope to post some more backlog stuff soonish!)

Also, as a resident greek, I gotta ask now: will there be a hundred hands involved, or was hecatochira just a name picked for flavour text? 😁

The Milky way is mostly an industrial corporate hellscape full of massive crowded cities, giant refineries and increasing social inequality

As for Hecatonchira, it was named for its many (ten major and almost as many minor) spiral arms
