Em is year 3 and 23! Anle is older. I think I put them at 27. Achians live to be around 120ish so Anle’s 27 isn’t quite the same as a Navaarian’s.

I'm really curious what Anle was thinking if we tell them the reason behind learning Achian language was because of Eowyn.
What little I know about Achian culture tells me gestures like that would be appreciated, but that's just a gut feeling.

For Anle, your thinking is absolutely right. Under normal circumstances, Anle would have been intrigued by MC’s connection and followed up. There’s a very specific reason they chose not to.
If we chose to learn Achian (I hope I'm spelling it correctly), will we ever get a chance to speak it with Eowyn? I've grown a bit of a soft spot for him :3 I want it to make him happy! Or as much as he can be happy lol
Absolutely! There’s a scene planned for the MC to visit with their warden(s) after they complete their first ever mission. So yes, Eowyn is definitely going to test and see if MC has begun taking to the language.
hiya! I was doing a playthrough and I saw where it mentions Achian lifespan being about 120 years old. So if MC romances Anle, Anle is going to live at least 30 years longer than us. How will it be when MC dies of old age? Will Anle be bothered by the idea when we are romancing them?

Hi! Achians tend to weigh the pros and cons of tying themselves to another all throughout the courtship process. When someone could be there today and gone tomorrow, there’s an added level of risk they have to consider when deciding whether or not to bind themselves to someone. So, yes, Anle would have considered MC’s lifespan at even the earliest signs of attraction. However, once they decided to commit, they would put more of a focus on cherishing the time they have. For Achians, it’s okay to mourn, but it’s more important to remember and feel appreciation for the love you were able to have.

Hello ! Since there are cultural differences between Navaarians and Achians, does that mean there are also differences when it comes to romance and courtship ? Maybe there are also different ways of showing affection ? Are Achians more reserved or prone to physical displays of love ?

Hi! Yes, there are! Achians take matters of the heart very seriously. They tend to love strongly and devote themselves fully once they find their person. But, given how easy it is to lose those they care about, they’re often cautious about forming long-term relationships. Courtship is slow and usually develops over many months. If they commit fully, then it’s likely they view that person as being their once in a lifetime love and are confident that the other sees them the same way (this is also why Anle’s reaction to the deep relationship breakup ask was so intense).
Early on, Achians are more reserved with their affections. Mostly due to uncertainty and caution. It’s later when the relationship is solidified that they become more open with expressing themselves to their partner. Anle is more reserved than most, but overall, Achians have no issue with public displays of affection. It’s considered a good thing to find that kind of connection and to value every moment of it.

Since Anle is a foreigner, are there things/customs/concepts they do not understand, and are there things that they do in Achian culture that we do not that perplexes them ?

Until recent, Achia has practiced isolationism and so there are a number of traditions/customs amongst Navaarians that are new to them. Gift giving is one. Achians value items that have a functional purpose, so the concept of giving someone something solely for enjoyment is strange to them. They need the item to have a specific use or substantial benefit.
There’s also the exchanging of rings for engagements/marriage. Achians commemorate important events and accomplishments with tattoos. A newly married couple will mark their wrists with a symbol of their union, a hunter will celebrate a Scha’le kill with a tattooed ring around their arm, etc. They’re very deliberate. They appreciate reason and purpose in actions and disregard unnecessary fluff or padding. Though Anle is fairly open and has always been curious about the different aspects of Lystonian/Navaarian culture, they’re still easily perplexed by what they learn.
On the other hand, Achians are very private and take their community obligations quite seriously. The idea of putting individuality first, of oversharing or prying is seen as strange and mildly offensive to Anle. So when dealing with Lystonians and their individualistic nature and Navaarians with their openness, Anle really has to hold their tongue.

how do you pronounce Anle? I usually say Ann-leh, but sometimes say Ann-lee. I need to pronounce my favorite RO’s last name correctly 😔
Oh! Honestly you’ve been super close! It’s Ahn-lay. A lot of the “-le” Achian pronunciations sound like “lay.” Like Scha’le, for example, sounds like “ska-lay.”

Kind’ve spooky, is the first thing that comes to mind. The trees are gnarled and come in shades of gray and black, but they’re not dead. They still bear fruit and nuts in strange tones and shapes that may be considered off putting. There are no flowers, no greenery of any kind. There’s really not much of any color in the landscape. It is dreary, cold and dark. What lives on the surface of Achia is better described as beasts rather than animals. Like a demonic entity’s imitation of a creature in the living world. Soulless eyes, vicious claws and teeth, misshapen and twisted. Achians build up rather than out for that reason. It’s not the most inviting environment, but it’s theirs.
