Mastering Multiplication Table of 3 - Easy Tables for Beginners
Learning your tables early can make math so much easier and more fun! Let’s look at the simple tables of 3:
How the Table of 3 Works:
Think of multiplication as repeated addition!
3 × 1 = 3 = 3
3 × 2 = 3 + 3 = 6
3 × 3 = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9
3 × 4 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12
3 × 5 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15
3 × 6 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 18
3 × 7 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 21
3 × 8 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 24
3 × 9 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 27
3 × 10 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 30
Multiplication Table of 3 in words:
3 × 1 = 3 — 3 ones are 3
3 × 2 = 6 — 3 twos are 6
3 × 3 = 9 — 3 threes are 9
3 × 4 = 12 — 3 fours are 12
3 × 5 = 15 — 3 fives are 15
3 × 6 = 18 — 3 sixes are 18
3 × 7 = 21 — 3 sevens are 21
3 × 8 = 24 — 3 eights are 24
3 × 9 = 27 — 3 nines are 27
3 × 10 = 30 — 3 tens are 30
Add a number 3 times to itself then it becomes a multiple of 3. Example 2+2+2 = 6. So 2, 3x is 6 so the table can be written 3x2= 6. This method is applied throughout the table. 3 is a prime number but multiples of 3 may or may not be a prime number.
