I think my biggest problem with the concept of “ace trace” isn’t even the fact that it’s exploiting the homophobic concept of gaydar (which is Bad) but more so that speculating and making assumptions about other people’s intimate and private sexual feelings is one of the most horrifying things I’ve ever heard One of my best friends who has struggled with depression and anxiety was assumed to be ace by one of their friends when they aren’t and it fucked them up because knowing other people were speculating about their private sexual feelings made them so uncomfortable so like in general maybe don’t do that because that’s shitty as fuck and really gross
