I adore all of it but what i love most is that we physically see Mafuyu forgetting Yuki. The footprints on the beach, the change in dialogue, how he asks Ritsuka if he wants to mess around. Along with the fact that MAFUYU found him dead. Trying to apologize, trying to get his boyfriend back, trying to fix things. He took his guitar, and he saw him dead. He’s still clearly grieving but the way they showed it is just beautiful. How it not only affected him but everyone else too. I could never imagine trying to move on from something like that, but it does happen. Yuki still gets shown in everything. The snow, cup of noodles, music. He’s still there, he never really leaves. He was clearly already not mentally well, but nobody knew. He never said anything about it. Even Mafuyu didn’t know. It’s hard for Ritsuka too, his boyfriend wouldn’t be with him if his last one didnt kill himself. That must suck to think about. Ritsuka is an amazing boyfriend he’s helping Mafuyu to the best of his ability but honestly, what can one even do? The band as a whole doesn’t y what to do. They’re all still in school or barely graduated. Hiiragi too, he looked up to Yuki to such an extent it seemed like he loved him (romantically). Hiiragi lost his older brother, his biggest inspiration, a band member, his best friend. A little bit easier he had Shizusumi was next to him the whole time. Helped him through the whole thing, listened, did things to make it easier on him. Point is Given did great at representing grief, it’s hard, but it’s so beautiful. They didn’t soften anything raw as hell. I adore this show.
