09.10.2020 • long time no post!
i haven’t posted any original content in....phew, a year and a half!! during that time i’ve taken my A levels, moved out, completed my first year at uni, started second year, oh and (so far!) lived through a global pandemic?? wild honestly.
thought i’d kick off my return to studyblr with some Chaucer crit and the minutes from my zoom meeting this morning 👩💻
Survived the 1st year of uni
So, I’m Almost completely done with the first year of uni and boy, it was an adventure. I had some good moments and some bad moments throughout the year. So let me give you some tips!
- don’t take 9 am classes if you don’t have to. Really, don’t. You think you’ll be able to handle them because you’re used to it from your time in high school. In uni, you’ll need all the sleep you can get and focussing at 9 am in the morning won’t be easy.
- follow all your lectures. I thought I could skip some lectures to sleep/ work on some assignments. It bit me back in the ass when exam period came around the corner. Just go to your lectures, your future self will thank you.
- do all the assigned reading. See the point above, this will come in handy when exams come around.
- make sure to spend plenty of time with your friends and family. Uni or college can make you feel really stressed, so please schedule time to see your friends or family.
- make sure to make new friends as well. At my uni, we’re all assigned to a mentor at the beginning of the first year. My mentor group did loads of stuff together but I felt like I never had the time. Looking back now, I should’ve taken this opportunity. Sadly, I was so stressed about assignments and exams and stuff. So basically they all became such good friends and I ended up alone (I have some Friends at uni though). Believe me, you DO have time to make new friends and spend time with them.
- put all your assignments in your calendar at the beginning of a new class. This way, you’ll always know when the deadlines are. With multiple classes, you can easily feel overwhelmed with assignments and tests. With being organised, you’ll know when to start an assignment etc. So you’ll won’t feel as overwhelmed and stressed.
- print out the handouts of a lecture before it starts. This way you won’t have to write down what’s on the presentation and you can really focus on what the lecturer is actually saying. You’ll have time later to rewrite the notes the way you like, if you want to make pretty notes.
- try to stay healthy. We’ve all been there, cooped up in our rooms studying for entire days. Personally, I always want to snack when I’m studying. Try to eat fruits instead of chips. Also try to get a bit of exercise every day, even in between studying. Exercise is so important, and helps you focus afterwards! Remember to take care of your body.
- the last tip: mental health comes before everything else. If you’re not feeling well mentally, focus on that first. You mental health is so much more important than that stupid exam. Nourish yourself.
Congrats on your 500 followers!! Could i please get a br? 😇
Thank you so much! :)

Physical education for pre boards :(
Is it just me or are these pictures giving some kind of optical illusion 😗
February 27th, Saturday
These pictures are from the month of January. I clicked a few of them with an idea of making a mood board but then my hectic schedule took over. So here they are, after all!
I got these cute mini journals from Amazon and I absolutely love them!! (Last picture)
Also, its good to be back here but I'm still gonna be a little strict on myself and not get completely lost online.
