Uhh, bear with this tome of replies.
Soooo, in short, I follow a ton of crazy talented people. Ā This has really made my day. I imagine you all going about your business and breaking into song (you know you do) and just killing it and getting those little compliments of,Ā āOh! Ā Wow, you sing really well,ā and just giving a nice,Ā āOh, thank you,ā in return while youāve all made the world a little bit brighter somewhere.
Also, I motion that we start a choir together. -_-. /impracticality
mastress answered: I sing more often in choruses for musicals than for straight choirs, but Iāve done both! I generally sing second soprano because itās where Iām most comfortable, but I have the range to pull of first if Iām not psyching myself out! You?Ā
I am most comfortable in an alto/mezzo range but I usually sing secondish soprano and I can hit first soprano notes if I build up to it and practice a lot. Ā Buuuut, I donāt read music -_- so itās not likely that Iāll develop much more on my own.
loquaciousquark answered: soprano i, baby, all sorts of various choirs since 4th grade
Lady, I am honestly not surprised. Ā Whatever your hand finds to do, it does with all its might. Ā
jadesabre301 answered: MEZZO I was a soprano until I got to college and then the choir I auditioned for didnāt need any more/they were all voice majors so I went from soprano I (which Iām really not anyway) to alto II/tenor Iā¦so harmony, high or low, Iām there.
Harmonies are so gorgeous. Ā Honestly, harmony makes a piece.
silverevenstar answered: well when I WAS in school I was in choir. I used to be Soprano, but my group had Soprano 1 & 2.
Soooo did you do first or second?
lifewithamohawk said: Mezzo soprano! I can sing alto but itās a bit of a stretch.
Right? Ā Sometimes I canāt hit the lower alto notes? Lol, unless Iāve had a cold recently -_-.
thethousandnaturalshocks answered:Heyaaa first soprano! *shake shake*
I want to sing with youuuuuuuu. Ā I just have this head canon that your voice is gorgeous and made of light.
onewngdangel said: Iāve sung in choirs since grade school, and really came to enjoy it in college because my conductor let me sing the parts I actually enjoyed. Iām a mezzo soprano, but enjoy the alto part the most. :)
Is it because of the harmony? Ā Because sopranos are great, and it is fun to sing the descant, but it doesnāt really come alive until you get the harmony in there, imo.
annakie answered: I havenāt REALLY sung since college, but Iām an alto
Get it, lady! Ā Any thoughts on joining a community choir?
ravenclawnerd said: Already tagged but YEAH SECOND SOPRANO. Though I can hit most of the first soprano notes. Ah, I hope I can do summer chorus while Iām here! I miss singing already.
Booyah, second soprano! *justice fist* Oh, summer chorus would be wonderful! Ā Does summer chorus do themed stuff?
ladywinde answered: i was in choir in junior high and highschool aeons ago and I was usually placed in second soprano or alto.
Do you miss it? Ā I find that when I havenāt done it for a while I usually miss it.
aphreal42 answered: Soprano. The sort who opts for descant parts when available.
Lol! Ā I love how you say it so casually. Ā And I donāt want to be misunderstood as sounding snide or rude, I really DO love that you go for the descant. Ā I think those can usually take a piece... higher. Ā
veterinaryrambles said: I was in choir in high school and still miss it sometimes. Definitely an alto, occasionally the teacher would have me join the few boys in our group on a tenor part since I could almost fake that if it was high enough.
I think thatās so cool. Ā Iāve had lady friends join basses before because they were that low O_O. Ā It really rounds out the choir.
thesecondsealwrites answered: I sang in a choir when I was a kid (nine and under). Soprano. Iām definitely an alto now. :)
Childrenās choir! Ā So important, honestly. Ā I think even when youāre young it helps instill an appreciation for music that stays with you.
