[BttP] Ears Ringing [Nessa/Gale]
@majo-no-meino
Heād only been back in town a few days when heād heard through the grapevine that someone had been asking about him. Him, of all people. Wizard or not, heād left to foster anonymity, after all; let a new generation of faces replace some of the mortals that might recognize him from, uh, his last ābusiness affairā having gone awry ā and heād been a little curious as to how heād failed at such a thing without even being in the area. Wasnāt that the epitome of being discreet?
Relax, theyād told him. It wasnāt a mortal asking questions, theyād told him. It was a witch.
Heād found himself abandoning his wariness for curiosity quickly enough. A witch? Really? The fortune teller had had few dealings with witches, and none of them particularly pleasant. The gods knew he and Vivi could scarcely share the same mile radius without incident, let alone sit in a room together. Still, heād never been one to turn up an opportunity toĀ ānetworkā, so to say - and he knew better than to get on a witchās bad side by ignoring her.
And that is why he found himself on the edge of herĀ āpropertyā, looking over the shack heād finally stumbled across after an afternoon of wandering. This was very likely to be the place heād been directed toā even the air surrounding the would-be cottage seemed to crackle with energy.
Should he approach after all? Well, heād almost certainly put his foot in bigger messes. He drew up to the door and knocked three times, waiting for a responseā pondering what on Earth heād even think to say if he was right and this is where she lived. Hello, we have a mutual friend, I think, maybe? No, that seemed a bit odd. Iām a wizard, who are you, perhaps? Nope, that was even more bizarre than the last.
