My country Australia (attempt 1)
Let me tell you about my country. My country is regarded by many as one on the most beautiful places in the world. From oceans to the outback, there is no other place in the world quiet like Australia. But in her sweet charm lie a dark story. Although there has never been a civil war, we have almost commited genocide. To the point there is no full aboriginal left. Through the twentieth century we stole the children of our indigenous peoples off the streets, because people believed that they could not care for themselves, forgetting that they have lived that way for 40,000 years. As a child I have been taught that Australians are not racists but realist. How all Muslims and gays should have an atomic bomb dropped on them. Conveniently forgetting that they are people too. I got told that my God is the true God and how people of different religion are inferior or extremists only seeking to cause chaos. I have been alive only to see a war on terror, but the terror I see is in the innocent faces of people whose beliefs and ideologies differ from their attackers. The ignorance of these people is sickening, yes we live on a island but we are not isolated from the world. The world is changing constantly, your belief does not translate into this modern society.
