If given a chance to restart his life, Alucard would be hard pressed to change anything. He certainly wouldn’t give up a single moment with his loved ones. Even Greta’s passing, where he sat alongside Sypha with each of them holding a wrinkled, brown hand, was a memory he refused to let go. As painful and as unbearable as it was, he wouldn’t trade a single second. They were blessed with five long decades of love and harmony and in the end, when Greta placed her last kiss on his cheek, called him 'sugar' for the final time and gazed at him with her warm brown eyes until they slid shut, all Alucard could remember was love.

He grieved, oh how he grieved. He was no better when Trevor passed only a few years early and all the worse when Sypha passed another decade later. But he was thankful, thankful that he had the time that he did and that Greta had been so forward. If not, who knows how long he would have pined from afar, hoping for the courage to confess his feelings. He has now learned that there is no point in lamenting the ‘what ifs’ when you haven’t even taken the first step. It was with that realization that Alucard spoke up.
