If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. Never been the strongest, fastest, or smartest but a general all-rounder. I want(ed) to be the guy that can do deadlifts with the HULKS in the gym one day, run a marathon the next, and build a website the day after that. I’ve long been fascinated with watching people excel at the highest level in sport, academics, and soldiery, for a long time wanting nothing more than to be in the SAS or SBS mostly to prove to myself that I could do it. However, life struck me down with serious illness and it took many years to recover a semblance of the fitness I once had. Before pain I could run ≥2 hours everyday easy peasy lemon squeezy but now have to make sure what I'm doing doesn't make things worse. Still, I suck it up, accept my limitations at that time, and work to push past them safely, sure I don't get to enjoy my youth like most people but one has to accept what can't be changed. In that time I decided to practice Buddhism seriously so soldiery as a career path had to go. I could barely curl 10kg when I rejoined a gym after 3-5 years of being an invalid walking pharmacy so getting to 300kg was a big achievement for me. My form needs dramatic improvement at this weight (and certainly was huffing and puffing) but at least I did it. Missing the gym and my gym bud @mila_stanzani
