#about toby

Toby is the youngest child to Neville and Hannah Longbottom. His older sister is Alice Longbottom. 

He has a pet toad called Wilber. When his dad mentioned one day that he’d had a toad at Hogwarts, Toby wanted one straight away. His dad wasn’t so sure about it, but conceded to keep Toby happy. 

He has zero physical coordination. His balance his appalling. Riding a broomstick has always been a struggle for him, so as cool as he thinks the members of the quidditch teams are, he knows he’ll never be one. He probably trips up the stairs about once a day. His hand-eye co-ordination is terrible as well, meaning his wand work often suffers, though not from lack of trying. Because of this, Toby finds he is more drawn to the subjects like care of magical creatures, astronomy, and history of magic, which don’t require so much wand work. 

He loves being outdoors. His lack of physical finesse never stopped him from exploring the woods or climbing trees, it just meant he was very often falling out of trees as well. 

Most of all he loves being in the water. He is instantly drawn to any large bodies of water, be it river or lake, but particularly the sea. He’ll make do with indoor swimming pools and bath tubs if he has too, but he loves nothing more that floating in a natural pool staring up at the sky. 

Feels he has to prove himself a lot, but not so much in achievements. I think he puts more value in relationships and people’s good opinions of him rather than being top in every class or the best at chess.

He does not like feeling like the ‘baby’, will strive to be mature or act older than he is if he realises he’s being babied, either by his parents, sister or classmates. 

Is pretty much certain he’s gay, but hasn’t told anybody yet. He’s not in the closet because he thinks his family will hate him or he’ll suffer bullying, it’s just he wants to be sure. He also he doesn’t really consider it a big deal, so doesn’t see the point of a big coming out. If it comes up, it will come up. 

But he’s also a massive virgin, I doubt he’s ever even kissed someone. 

Doesn’t really know what he wants to do with his life after hogwarts yet. He’s just not thinking about it at all. 

His middle name is Frank. 

He is definitely a mummy’s boy but he really looks up to his dad, and is sometimes jealous of his dad’s relationship with Alice. 

Being on the light side is kind of a default setting for him. He’s never even considered the dark arts an option.

A Best Friend - someone he loves beyond measure and can be his real dorky self around. A Crush - someone he is head over heels for but won’t let on. Requited or Unrequited. An Admirer - someone who has a crush on him, maybe he’s oblivious, maybe he knows but doesn’t want to let them down. A Bully - Someone who’s going to take advantage of his sweet nature and make him feel like crap. A Study Buddy - Not necessarily friends, but someone who helps him out in the areas he struggles in. Perhaps he can help fill in the gaps in their knowledge too.
