Is it just me or is the interactions between Ookami and Retsuko in the Netflix version seem really friendly? I mean it seems like he respects her a lot, like he didn't laugh at her while Ton disses her and they have a genuine talk in one of the season 2 episodes

Well, itās based on the way Ookami refers to both Haida and Retsuko in the Japanese version (References: Episode 7 of the Netflix show, and episode 32 of the mini-eps)Ā
He does call them (Name)-Senpai, or just Senpai alone. He never calls them by their name alone.
So itās not really a āNotice me Senpai!ā memeĀ thing, itās an actual thing that happens in the show, and I wanted to keep it because thatās how I picture him talking to them :ā)
When heāll talk to/about Retsuko, heāll also refer to her as Retsuko-Senpai.Ā
