What if Dream got pregnant inside Pandora's Vault? How would Sam react, and how would he change the way he treats Dream?
I thiiiink Iāve made a post about this before. Anyway me and @cgogs have discussed this.
1) c!Sam is not a fan!! He was kinda in denial about their whole situation to begin with. He does not want to have a child with c!Dream!! However. Thatās his kid, isnāt it. Heās not sure what he wants to do about this child, if he wants Dream to keep it or or get rid of it. He wants a child, he wants his child, he just doesnāt want to admit that he wants any piece of Dream.
2) Luckily, he doesnāt have to admit that he wants the kid. Sam is neither going to force Dream to have an abortion nor prevent him from accessing one. #dreamsbodydreamschoice. Sam is an ally (except ofc for the torture and starvation and confinement and privacy and general violations of autonomy)
3) Sam is not going to starve Dream nor allow him to be tortured while heās pregnant. Heās not going to let the innocent baby suffer for Dreamās poor choices! Which means Dream gets a regulated diet, regular examinations, and no more Q visits. Itās psychologically onerous but a huge step up from what heās been suffering, so! Heāll take it.
4) Dream is aware of this. Dream doesnāt particularly want Samās child either, but he does very much want Samās protection. So yeah no way in hell is he letting this thing die. He protects it and it will protect him.
5) Dream doesnāt know shit about pregnancy and Sam isnāt telling him anything. Dream doesnāt know how long itās been, what kinds of discomfort are normal symptoms of pregnancy, whatās his imagination under hellish circumstances, whatās aftereffects of torture, etc. He has Horrific nightmares. Mostly about Q and vivisection and coat hangers. And so forth.
6) Sam tries valiantly to abstain from additional sex with evil. Not that valiantly though.
7) Dream has no one else to talk to. So he talks to his baby all the time, when heās alone. Not even Quackity visits anymore. Itās just Dream and Sam and the thing growing inside him. Sam has been trying to practice studied indifference, stuffy distance.
8) When Nettle is born, Dream tells Sam her name. He doesnāt know if Sam will keep it. Sam takes her away immediately: the prison is no place for a child and Dream is no parent. The cell is returned to its former state. If it werenāt for his physical state, Dream would wonder if he imagined her.
