So I’m a part of a project called “You Know Me” in Denver aimed at ending the harmful stigmas surrounding abortion.
The piece will be comprised of various monologues conveying different peoples abortion stories.
I don’t personally have my own abortion story—but this project means a lot to me and bringing voice to this issue and defending women’s rights to choose what they do or do not do with their bodies is incredibly important, especially now.
So here’s what I’m asking: if you (or someone you know) has an abortion story, I would be honored to listen, talk, and possibly portray the story in this project in monologue form. You would remain 100% anonymous and can even send me your story anonymously as well if you’d feel more comfortable doing so.
This is a scary time and I know not everyone has the privilege that I do of having a safe place and platform to express myself and take a stand. However, I also know that sometimes sharing your story can be incredibly cathartic and healing. So this is me offering you a way to do so while still remaining anonymous—but please know I will listen judgement-free no matter what.
If you’d like to share your story with the hope of my using it in this project please feel free to reach out! Or if you’d simply like a place to talk and would rather I not use your story, that is more than okay too.
