22:06. 62 miles. First medal. First #trailwalkeruk. Most likely the last. That was tough. My feet weren't hardened, the rain was driving, the ground was slippy. We started strong, running downhill. About 3 hours in total spent eating, changing socks, replenishing water over the 9 checkpoints of the course. I could've cried when we entered the racecourse, just so happy and relieved that I could take my shoes off. My body is already starting to recover, but an #endurancechallenge is not for me to do frequently. There weren't any broken bones this year but a few minor injuries. I could've pulled out when my blister popped, but that wouldn't have been satisfying and I would've let me team and sponsors down. But I'm #trailwalkerstrong. I'd like this challenge to have meaning more than that I just messed up my body and sleep pattern for a bit of fun, so if you think I'm worthy of your cash, proceeds will go towards @oxfamgb and the @gurkhawelfaretrust (the Gurkhas were bloody splendid throughout).
